Job summary

Daikin Saudi seeks a Project Engineer - Refrigeration based in Riyadh to lead and coordinate refrigeration projects across KSA, spanning from Sales handover through planning, engineering coordination, procurement, site execution, testing and handover. Deliveries must meet safety, quality and contractual requirements.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree with 5+ years in Industrial Refrigeration/HVAC/MEP, knowledge of NH3 and glycol systems, and familiarity with IIAR, ASHRAE and ASME

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years in Industrial Refrigeration/HVAC/MEP.
• Knowledge of NH3 and glycol refrigeration systems.
• Familiarity with IIAR, ASHRAE & ASME standards.
• Experience using MS Project or Primavera P6.
• PMP certification is preferred.
• Strong coordination and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review project scope, specifications, drawings, and contractual requirements following Sales handover.
• Support project planning, scheduling, procurement, and site execution activities.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, logistics, subcontractors, clients, and consultants for smooth delivery.
• Review submittals, drawings, statements, and material approvals.
• Coordinate installation of Refrigeration systems, particularly NH3 and glycol systems & Commercial.
• Monitor site progress and ensure work aligns with drawings and quality/HSE standards.
• Track progress, manage variations, and prepare progress reports.

About The Role

The Project Engineer - Refrigeration is based in Riyadh and responsible for the successful execution of Refrigeration projects across KSA. The role supports the full project lifecycle from Sales handover through planning, engineering coordination, procurement, site execution, testing and commissioning, and final handover, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with contractual, quality, and HSE requirements.

How You Will Make An Impact

Project Planning & Execution

• Review project scope, specifications, drawings, and contractual requirements following Sales handover.
• Support project planning, scheduling, resource requirements, procurement, and site execution activities.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, logistics, subcontractors, clients, and consultants to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Review technical submittals, drawings, method statements, and material approvals.
• Coordinate and monitor installation of Refrigeration systems, particularly NH₃ and glycol systems & Commercial.
• Monitor site progress and ensure work is completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality requirements, and HSE standards.

Project Monitoring & Control

• Track project progress against schedules, milestones, and planned activities.
• Monitor material deliveries, site requirements, variations, and potential delays.
• Prepare progress reports and provide regular updates to the Project Manager and management.
• Identify technical and execution issues and coordinate timely corrective actions.
• Support cost control and ensure efficient utilization of materials and resources.

Testing, Commissioning & Handover

• Coordinate testing and commissioning activities for Industrial Refrigeration systems.
• Support troubleshooting and resolution of technical and site-related issues.
• Coordinate inspections, snagging, and punch-list closure with clients and consultants.
• Ensure completion of as-built drawings, O&M manuals, test reports, warranties, and other handover documents.
• Support final client handover and project close-out.

What You Need To Succeed

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Industrial Refrigeration, HVAC, MEP, or related projects, preferably with Industrial Refrigeration experience.
• Good knowledge of NH₃ and glycol refrigeration systems, including installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Knowledge of refrigeration technologies including NH₃, CO₂, HFCs, HCFCs, and CFCs.
• Working knowledge of IIAR, ASHRAE, and ASME standards.
• Experience with MS Project or Primavera P6.
• PMP certification is preferred.
• Strong technical, problem-solving, coordination, and communication skills.
• Good understanding of project documentation, site execution, quality, and HSE requirements.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Willingness to travel to project sites across KSA as required.
