Job summary

Confidential is seeking an experienced Project Director to lead and oversee the successful delivery of large-scale building, hospitality, commercial, and high-rise construction projects in Riyadh. The role demands strategic planning, stakeholder management, and strong leadership across multidisciplinary teams.

You will be accountable for project performance including cost, schedule, quality, safety, risk management, client satisfaction, and seamless handover, working from pre-construction

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 15+ years of experience in construction project management, including significant experience as a Project Director or Senior Project Manager.
  • Extensive experience managing complex projects from pre-construction through completion and handover.
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, project controls, contract management, and commercial operations.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary teams and multiple subcontractors.
  • Strong technical knowledge of structural, architectural, MEP, and finishing works.
  • Experience working with international consultants, clients, PMC organizations, and major contractors.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, variations, claims management, and dispute resolution.
  • Proficiency in project management tools including Primavera P6, MS Project, and MS Office.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership, strategic direction, and executive management for assigned construction projects.
  • Take full ownership of project delivery, ensuring completion within approved budget, schedule, quality, and safety requirements.
  • Lead project planning, execution, monitoring, and close-out activities.
  • Establish project objectives, execution strategies, delivery plans, and performance targets in alignment with company objectives and client expectations.
  • Manage and coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, PMC teams, architects, contractors, subcontractors, and key project stakeholders.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to Project Managers, construction teams, engineering teams, commercial teams, and support functions.
  • Review and approve project schedules, budgets, procurement strategies, risk registers, and execution plans.
  • Monitor overall project performance and implement corrective actions to achieve project objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements, approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and applicable regulations.
  • Drive effective project controls, including cost management, forecasting, progress monitoring, reporting, and performance tracking.
  • Oversee design coordination, technical reviews, value engineering initiatives, and constructability assessments.
  • Ensure timely resolution of technical, commercial, contractual, and operational challenges.
  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize delays, cost impacts, and operational issues.
  • Lead project progress meetings with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Ensure effective implementation of QA/QC and HSE management systems.
  • Review and approve major procurement decisions and ensure timely availability of materials, equipment, and resources.
  • Monitor subcontractor and supplier performance to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Oversee testing, commissioning, project completion, handover, and close-out activities.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
