Project Control Engineer

Job summary

DAR AL RIYADH is seeking an experienced project controls professional to lead scheduling, cost control, and risk management on complex construction programs in Riyadh. You will develop baselines with Primavera P6 and MS Project, monitor variances, prepare weekly and monthly reports, and coordinate with project managers, engineers and contractors to keep projects on track.

Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder-management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a recognized university.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience in project controls, planning, scheduling and cost management.
• Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project and Microsoft Excel.
• Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining baseline, updated and recovery schedules.
• Strong knowledge of critical-path analysis, progress measurement, resource loading, forecasting and schedule-variance analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop maintain and update integrated project schedules using Primavera P6 Microsoft Project or equivalent scheduling software.
• Establish work breakdown structures activity coding project calendars milestones logical relationships and baseline schedules.
• Monitor actual progress against approved baselines and identify schedule variances critical-path changes delays and emerging constraints.
• Prepare short- and long-term forecasts covering completion dates resource requirements cash flow and project-delivery risks.
• Develop project budgets cost baselines and cost-control procedures aligned with the approved scope and schedule.
• Monitor commitments expenditures accruals and forecasts and perform planned-versus-actual cost and schedule variance analyses.
• Analyze project performance using appropriate project-control methods including earned-value indicators where applicable.
• Identify schedule cost resource and delivery risks and coordinate the development and monitoring of mitigation actions.
• Prepare weekly and monthly project-control reports dashboards progress curves forecasts and executive performance summaries.
• Assess scope changes variations and delay events and evaluate their potential cost and schedule impacts.
• Maintain change-control records and ensure that changes are properly documented reviewed approved and incorporated into project baselines.
• Coordinate with project managers engineers contractors commercial teams and other stakeholders to validate progress and performance data.
• Review contractor schedules progress updates recovery plans cost reports and supporting documentation.
• Recommend corrective actions and recovery measures when actual performance deviates from approved plans.
• Maintain accurate project-control records assumptions progress-measurement methods risk registers and audit trails.
• Support quality assurance by verifying that project-control deliverables comply with approved procedures contractual requirements and applicable standards.

• Sound understanding of risk management, change control and project-performance measurement.
• Ability to analyze complex project data and convert findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and attention-to-detail capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder-coordination skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary and team-oriented project environment.
• Familiarity with construction contracts, claims, variations and applicable legal or contractual frameworks is advantageous.
• PMP, PMI-SP, AACE PSP/CCP or an equivalent recognized professional certification is preferred
