Job summary

Bechtel Corporation in Riyadh is seeking a Project Accountant to deliver professional financial and accounting support on the Expo 2030 Riyadh project. You will manage the prime contract, prepare client invoices, oversee accounts payable, and provide reporting to the project management team.

The role requires a bachelor's degree and 8–14 years of relevant experience, with familiarity in Oracle systems. You will collaborate across disciplines to ensure compliance and drive process improvements.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provides professional accounting support services on the project.
• Extracts and analyzes technical data; assists with reports, charts, and studies.
• Coordinates with Accounts Payable, Receivables and Client billings to ensure invoicing per contract terms.
• Reviews the accounts payable on hold report with procurement and resolves issues with vendors.
• Assists with audit queries (internal and external).
• Supports cross functional work with project organizations to ensure accuracy of financial information.

Project Overview:

Expo 2030 Riyadh is a global platform where countries, organizations, and individuals will come together to collaborate. Under the theme “Foresight for Tomorrow,” the Expo promotes sustainable development, innovation, and transformative thinking. The event will be held from October 2030 to March 2031 and is expected to welcome over 40 million visits.

The 6 km² Masterplan outlines a comprehensive framework for participation and infrastructure at the Expo. The exhibition space, totaling 491,100 m² GFA, can accommodate up to 197 participating countries and 29 international organizations. Working collaboratively with our customer, Expo 2030 Riyadh Company (ERC), Bechtel will manage the infrastructure program which comprises early works, utilities, and publicly accessible spaces like streets and parks. Our scope on the six-square-kilometer site will transition into a mixed-use legacy development to serve the community after the six-month event is over. The project’s master plan leverages international sustainability standards for urban afforestation, treated water, and energy sources.

Job Summary:

As a Project Accountant, you will provide professional Financial & Accounting support services at the jobsite. You will have a strong understanding of the prime contract, prepare monthly client invoices, manage accounts payable and provide the project management team reporting and ad hoc support. You will assist with monthly reviews, data validation, and reconciliations. Your efforts will help ensure Financial & Accounting compliance and contribute to issue resolution and process improvements.

Major Responsibilities:

• Provides and assists with professional accounting support services.

• Extracts and performs preliminary analysis of technical data and may participate in preparing reports, charts and studies related to financial or project accounting issues.

• Works with transactional groups (e.g., Accounts Payable and Receivables and Client billings) to ensure project is producing invoices as per contractual terms.

• Review the accounts payable on hold report with procurement and work with vendors and the AP team to resolve issues in a timely manner.

• Assists with audit queries (internal and external).

• Supports cross functional work with project organizations to ensure accuracy of financial information.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Client billing preparation

• General ledger analysis, entries and reconcilations

• Accounts payable management

• Project accounting knowledge including experience with Bechtel’s Oracle systems

• Ability to communicate with project management and across multiple functional disciplines
