Production Supervisor – CUSTOMIZED Steel Fabrication, Welding & Painting

About the Role:

We are a leading manufacturer in the steel industry (CUSTOMIZED Steel Fabrication, Welding & Painting) seeking a highly skilled and motivated Production Supervisor to lead our workshop operations in Dammam. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the production process, from steel fabrication and welding to industrial painting, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Production Management: Supervise and coordinate daily production activities across the steel fabrication, welding, and painting departments to meet project schedules and output targets.
  • Cycle time: Evaluates the average time required to complete one fabrication cycle from start to finish.
  • Determines project schedule by studying project plan and specifications, calculates time requirements, and sequences project elements
  • Team Leadership: Allocate tasks, provide direction, and monitor the performance of technicians, welders, painters, and other workshop personnel.
  • Technical Execution: Accurately review and interpret engineering drawings, shop drawings, and technical specifications to guide the team and ensure precise execution.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Liaise effectively with the Planning, Quality Control (QC/QA), and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) departments to ensure seamless workflow and compliance with all project requirements.
  • Develop cutting plan of raw material, using tool for each project to optimize the scrap.
  • Supervising staff and manufacturing processes and making appropriate recommendations for improvement
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Attends kick-off meeting with client, engineers and consultant to provide update on project progress
  • Resource Management: Monitor material consumption, control waste, and optimise resource utilisation to maintain productivity and cost-effectiveness.
  • Reporting: Prepare and submit accurate daily and weekly production reports, highlighting progress, key performance indicators (KPIs), and any potential issues or delays.
  • Training & Development: Train, mentor, and develop team members to enhance their technical skills,
Qualifications & Experience:
  • A Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5-10 years of hands-on experience in a heavy steel fabrication environment, with proven expertise in welding and industrial painting processes.
Key Skills Required:
  • In-depth knowledge of steel fabrication, welding processes, and industrial painting methods. international welding standards (e.g., ASME, AWS, API 650 ) and industrial painting/coating systems (e.g., NACE, B-GAS, APCS standards are a plus).
  • Strong ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings, blueprints, and project specifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to perform effectively under pressure to meet critical deadlines.
  • Proficient communication skills in English (both written and verbal).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills for managing teams and resolving production issues efficiently.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations, quality standards, and industry best practices.
  • Experience with production planning, reporting tools, and equipment used in customised metal fabrication.
