Confidential Careers in Jeddah seeks a Production Supervisor to oversee thermoforming operations. You will supervise daily production activities, ensure machine readiness, and coordinate with planning, QA, maintenance, and other departments to meet targets.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical/industrial/production engineering and 5+ years in plastic manufacturing, with at least 3 years in thermoforming and strong leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial, production engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years experience in plastic manufacturing.
• Minimum 3 years direct thermoforming experience.
• Proven experience supervising thermoforming machines, mould changes, machine setup and production teams.
• Experience with PVC/PP/PET/ABS or other thermoforming materials is preferred.
• Good knowledge of production planning, quality control, troubleshooting, OEE and HSE.
• Strong leadership and team-management skills.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Production Supervision & Execution

• Supervise and coordinate daily thermoforming production activities according to the production schedule.
• Ensure the availability of machines, manpower, raw materials, moulds, and tooling.
• Monitor production output against planned targets and take corrective action when required.
• Coordinate with Planning, Warehouse, Quality, Maintenance, and other departments to ensure smooth production.
• Ensure proper shift handover and follow-up of pending production issues.

2. Thermoforming Process Supervision

• Supervise thermoforming machine operations and ensure approved operating parameters are maintained.
• Monitor key parameters such as heating temperature, forming pressure/vacuum, cooling, cycle time, and trimming conditions.
• Ensure the correct mould, sheet material, and tooling are used according to product specifications.
• Supervise machine changeovers, mould changes, trial runs, and start-up activities.
• Troubleshoot production and process-related problems and coordinate corrective actions.

3. Quality Control

• Ensure products meet approved specifications, drawings, samples, and quality standards.
• Monitor product dimensions, weight, thickness, appearance, forming quality, and trimming accuracy.
• Coordinate with QA/QC to identify and resolve quality issues.
• Take corrective action to minimize rejection, rework, and process-related defects.

4. Productivity & Efficiency

• Monitor production efficiency, machine utilization, cycle time, OEE, and downtime.
• Identify production bottlenecks and take appropriate actions to improve productivity.
• Monitor machine performance and ensure production targets are achieved.
• Follow up on scrap and material consumption and support waste-reduction initiatives.

5. Machine & Tooling Coordination

• Coordinate with Maintenance regarding machine breakdowns, preventive maintenance, and recurring technical problems.
• Monitor machine and tooling conditions and report abnormalities promptly.
• Coordinate mould/tooling maintenance, modification, and replacement requirements.
• Ensure machines are properly prepared and ready for production.

6. Team Supervision & Training

• Supervise and guide Production Supervisors, Team Leaders, Machine Operators, and other production personnel.
• Assign tasks and monitor employee performance during shifts.
• Provide technical guidance to operators regarding machine operation and process parameters.
• Identify training needs and support the training of production employees.
• Promote discipline, teamwork, productivity, and compliance with company procedures.

7. Safety & Compliance

• Ensure safe operation of thermoforming machines and related equipment.
• Ensure compliance with PPE, machine guarding, LOTO, housekeeping, and HSE requirements.
• Identify unsafe conditions and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Ensure operators follow approved safety and operating procedures.

8. Reporting & Follow-up

• Prepare and review daily production reports.
• Monitor production output, downtime, rejection, scrap, and efficiency.
• Report production problems and technical issues to management.
• Follow up on corrective actions and provide regular updates to the Production Manager.
• Support continuous improvement activities within the Thermoforming Department.

Qualifications & Experience :

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Production Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in plastic manufacturing.
• Minimum 3 years of direct experience in Thermoforming.
• Proven experience supervising thermoforming machines, mould changes, machine setup, and production teams.
• Experience in PVC/PP/PET/ABS or other relevant thermoforming materials is preferred.
• Good knowledge of production planning, quality control, troubleshooting, OEE, and HSE.
• Strong leadership and team-management skills.
