Gulfmaid in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, is seeking a hands-on R&D Specialist to lead new product development and optimize formulations for PVC, CPVC, and PP compounds.

You will work across processing technologies, run material testing to ISO/ASTM standards, and drive continuous improvement while collaborating with procurement and production teams.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Plastic or Polymer Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years hands-on R&D in plastics manufacturing (pipes/fittings preferred).
• Expertise in plastic processing: Injection, Blow, Blown Film, Thermoforming, Profile Extrusion.
• Experience with PVC, CPVC, LDPE, HDPE, PET, PS, PP, PMMA, and PC.
• Strong English communication and technical writing skills.
• Ability to coordinate with procurement and production teams.

We are looking for a talented and hands‑on R&D Specialist to join our dynamic team in Jeddah, KSA. In this role, you will lead new product development, optimize formulations, and drive continuous improvement across our manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities:

• Product Development: Drive end-to-end new and existing product development from conception to commercialization, ensuring alignment with market needs and company goals.
• Formulation & Innovation: Develop and optimize formulations (specifically for PVC, CPVC, and PP compounds) to meet strict performance and cost targets.
• Raw Material Development: Select and evaluate raw materials and additives (stabilizers, fillers, impact modifiers, lubricants) and assess alternative suppliers in coordination with procurement.
• Testing & Validation: Conduct product testing, material evaluation, and production trials while ensuring full compliance with international standards (ASTM, ISO, SASO, NSF, UL).
• Process Optimization & Troubleshooting: Investigate material-related issues using Root Cause Analysis (RCA), analyze scrap and defects, and recommend cost-reduction initiatives.
• Technical Documentation: Prepare and maintain precise material specifications, datasheets, and validation reports while supporting production teams on the shop floor.

What We Are Looking For (Requirements & Qualifications) :

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Plastic or Polymer Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 5+ years of hands‑on R&D experience in plastics manufacturing (pipes and fittings experience Required, other techniques are strong advantage).
• Processing Expertise: Deep familiarity with plastic processing technologies, including Injection Molding, Blow Molding, Blown Film, Thermoforming, and Profile Extrusion.
• Material Knowledge: Extensive work with polymers such as PVC, CPVC, LDPE, HDPE, PET, PS, PP, PMMA, and PC.
• Analytical Skills: Proficiency in analytical techniques (e.g., DSC, TGA, FTIR, SEM, UTM) and recycling materials optimization.
• Communication: Good command of the English language with strong technical writing and collaboration skills.
