Job summary

Almosafer is seeking a Product Designer to shape the Digital Consumer Travel experience. You will work with engineers, product managers, and other designers to turn problems into meaningful experiences across flights, stays, activities, and more.

You will conduct research, translate insights into design decisions, and contribute to design systems. A portfolio showcasing up to 3 projects is required. This role demands strong Arabic and English communication and a deep user-centered mindset.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of product design experience within a consumer focused organization.
• Ability to plan and conduct research from interviews and usability tests to surveys.
• Strong communication skills to tell a story to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent visual design skills and proficiency in design, prototyping, and whiteboarding tools.
• Experience contributing to a design system.

About the Role

We are seeking a Product Designer to join our team focusing on the Digital Consumer Travel experience. In this role, you will play a key part in shaping the future of how customers book and manage a diverse range of travel products, including flights, stays, activities, and more. You will work in a cross-functional team of engineers, product managers, and other designers to turn problems and opportunities into meaningful and impactful experiences. This role requires a deep understanding of customer needs and behaviors, business objectives and market trends, and systems knowledge.

Responsibilities:

• You will identify and understand customer needs, behaviors, and pain points and use this to define opportunities and problem statements that inform the team's work.
• You will lead and support discovery activities such as user interviews, surveys, and usability tests to uncover customer needs and validate opportunities.
• You will work in a fast-paced team of engineers, product managers, and designers to uncover customer problems and deliver impactful solutions across multiple web and mobile platforms.
• You will consider the business needs, technical constraints, data, and platform requirements in order to produce impactful and valuable solutions.
• You will creatively translate opportunities into elegant, intuitive, and effective experiences that deliver customer and business value
• You will rapidly and pragmatically produce concepts and prototypes, understanding when further ideation, testing, or changing directions is needed.
• You will run experiments frequently to validate your assumptions and optimize your solutions.

Profile Requirements:

• You have 3-5 years of product design experience within a consumer focused organization and a proven record of successfully shipped mobile and web experiences.
• You demonstrate a deep understanding of product strategy and business requirements, with a strong focus on addressing customers' needs and pain points.
• You are a design thinker and problem solver at heart, and you consistently strive to gain a deep understanding of the customers, business, and problems you are trying to solve.
• You are comfortable planning and conducting research from interviews and usability tests to surveys, and you integrate insights into your design process.
• You have the necessary communication skills to tell a story about your work and communicate complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• You possess excellent visual design skills and are proficient in design, prototyping, and whiteboarding tools (such as Figma, Framer, Miro). You have experience working with and contributing to a design system.
• You regularly seek and give constructive feedback. You share and discuss your work openly at every stage without any "big reveals."
• You love working with other designers and cross-functional team members and thrive on transparency and effective communication.
• You have an online portfolio or PDF you can share with us. Please include up to 3 projects that best represent your design thinking process and demonstrate the impact of your work. Applications without a portfolio will not be considered.
• You are experienced in the entire product design cycle: From UX research, wireframes and prototypes to the final design, implementation and optimization
• Proficient in design and prototyping tools (such as Figma, Framer, Proto.io)
• A strong visual design background with knowledge of Google Material Guidelines, Apple Human Interface Guidelines and design systems
• Solid understanding and experience in the field of research: interviewing users, setting up surveys and usability tests as well as interpreting the results
• Basic knowledge and experience leveraging data and analytics to inform design decisions
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in Arabic and English.
