Job summary

Wood seeks a Process Automation System SME to serve as the Technical Authority for energy, oil & gas, mining, and industrial projects in Saudi Arabia. You will lead technical strategy, governance, and delivery across the project lifecycle, mentoring teams and ensuring safe, innovative solutions.

The role requires a Chartered Engineer or equivalent, 20+ years of relevant experience, and expertise in ICSS architectures (Honeywell, Emerson, Yokogawa), as well as IEC 61511/62443 standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in the relevant Engineering discipline.
• Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer status is preferred.
• Minimum 20 years of experience in Oil & Gas, Energy, Petrochemical, Mining or Industrial projects.
• Proven experience as a Technical Authority, Chief Engineer, Principal Consultant, Engineering Fellow or equivalent.
• ICSS architectures: Honeywell, Emerson, Yokogawa; cybersecurity expertise.
• Knowledge of IEC 61511 and IEC 62443 standards.
• Lead technical strategy for DCS, SIS, SCADA and integrated automation systems.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Technical Authority across multiple projects.
• Lead technical reviews during Concept, FEED and Detailed Design.
• Perform independent design assurance and peer reviews.
• Resolve complex engineering challenges and provide specialist guidance.
• Support proposals, client workshops and business development.
• Mentor engineers and develop technical capability.
• Develop and maintain engineering standards and best practices.

We are seeking a Process Automation System SME to serve as the Technical Authority across our portfolio of energy oil amp gas mining industrial and infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia The successful candidate will provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle including proposals concept studies FEED detailed engineering construction support and commissioning Acting as the highest level of technical authority within their discipline the successful candidate will provide specialist expertise ensure engineering excellence strengthen technical governance and support the delivery of safe innovative and high-quality engineering solutions In addition to supporting projects the SME will mentor engineering teams establish and maintain technical standards support business development activities contribute to technical assurance and build trusted relationships with clients and key stakeholders across the region
