Job summary

ETAP Dhahran Saudi is seeking a Power Management & Automation Commissioning Engineer to lead the commissioning, testing, and validation of PMS, EMS, PPC, and MGC solutions. The role involves configuring BESS controls, PPC tuning, and designing automation for oil & gas, industrial, and utility sectors.

You will program PLC/RTU systems, coordinate FATs with manufacturers, and drive SATs according to client procedures. Strong protocol expertise and cybersecurity practices are essential.

Qualifications

• Configure and test communication protocols including Modbus RTU/TCP, IEC 61850 (MMS, GOOSE), DNP3, IEC 60870-5-101/103/104.
• Implement cybersecurity measures per IEC 62351 and industry best practices.
• Software tools hand-on experience on Codesys and IEC 61131 PLC tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning and configuration of Power Management Systems (PMS), Energy Management Systems (EMS), Power Plant Controllers (PPC), and Microgrid Controllers (MGC).
• Implement and tune PPC controllers.
• Configure and commission Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) control including SOC management, charge/discharge scheduling, and hybrid dispatch optimization.
• Design, implement, and commission Power Automation systems for Oil & Gas, Industrial, and Utility applications.
• Program and configure PLC/RTU systems for power management applications.
• Prepare, coordinate, and execute Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) with equipment manufacturers.
• Lead Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) per approved client formats and procedures.
