Job summary

KAUST Department Physical Science and Engineering Division seeks a Postdoctoral Research Associate to lead an experimental program in composite materials and structural integrity. Plan and conduct investigations, analyze data, and contribute to research outcomes and publications.

The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team with access to established lab facilities and equipment, requiring a PhD in a related field and fluent English.

Qualifications

• PhD in mechanical, materials, civil, aerospace, or related engineering discipline.
• Experience in experimental mechanics of polymers, composites, or adhesive joints.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical testing and experimental characterization.
• Familiarity with fracture/damage mechanics is desirable.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct experimental investigations on composite materials and bonded structures.
• Prepare specimens and carry out mechanical and experimental characterization.
• Apply non-destructive testing and monitoring techniques.
• Analyze data and contribute to publications.
• Support supervision of PhD and MSc students.
• Contribute to project reporting and collaboration with partners.
