Job summary

Port Engineer position based in Saudi Arabia is an on-site, full-time role overseeing vessel operations, maintenance, and safety compliance. You will coordinate inspections, weed out non-compliant practices, and work with cross-functional teams and external service providers to optimize performance.

A strong background in marine engineering and prior Chief Engineer exposure are essential. Applicants must hold required COE/CoP certifications, STCW, Marlins, and other mandatory documents.

Qualifications

• Shall have at least four (4) years experience as Chief Engineer on the type of Vessel they are assigned (Non DP - Crew Boat / Offshore Security Patrolling Boats).
• The Port Engineer shall at all times be able to take over as temporary Chief Engineer on their assigned Vessels, therefore will also undergo Evaluation by Saudi Aramco as Chief Engineer for the Type of Vessel he is assigned (Non DP - Crew Boat / Offshore Security Patrolling Boats).
• MANDATORY VALID DOCUMENTS including Certificates of Competency with Verification and Endorsement, all STCW Certificates (including Medical Care).
• Passport and Seaman Book with valid time entries; Marlins Test with online verification; Medical fitness; H2S/HUET/BOSIET.
• Experience in Maintenance & Repair of marine vessels; Proficiency in Ship Management and Vessel Operations; Prior experience as Port Engineer or related role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee vessel operations and dockside activities to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Coordinate day-to-day vessel management, inspections, and maintenance planning.
• Ensure compliance with safety and maritime regulations; liaise with teams and third-party service providers.
• Provide leadership continuity by acting as Chief Engineer when needed and maintain thorough documentation.
