Job summary

ACWA Power seeks a Chemist for the plant operations who will conduct qualitative and quantitative chemical analyses and experiments for quality control and process development. The role requires close adherence to safety, regulatory compliance, and environmental guidelines.

The successful candidate will maintain laboratory records, support start-up/shutdown activities, and prepare periodic reports. Minimum 5 years in related field and degrees in chemistry are expected, with ISO/OHSAS awareness

Qualifications

Educational qualifications include a Bachelor Degree in Chemistry as a minimum and a Master Degree in Chemistry preferred.
Minimum 5 years in related field is expected.
Awareness of Quality, Occupational Health & Safety and Environment Management System principles.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements, Hazard Risk Assessment, Aspect Impact Assessment, and environmental/health impacts of chemicals.

Responsibilities

Comply with safety rules and regulations.
Maintain all records related to plant chemistry.
Coordinate with Shift Charge Engineer during unit start-up/shutdown and normal running.
Carry out quality inspection of chemicals received in the plant.
Prepare monthly reports pertaining to the area under supervision.
Perform other duties as assigned.
