Alfanar Projects is seeking a Planning Engineer – Electrical Projects to support the planning, scheduling, and cost control activities of electrical construction projects, with a primary focus on substations and overhead transmission lines (OHTL). The role is critical in ensuring schedule integrity, cost visibility, and on-time delivery across EPC power projects.
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules for electrical construction projects, including HV/EHV substations and OHTL, in line with contract requirements and best practices.
Prepare baseline, revised, and recovery schedules, ensuring alignment with construction sequences and electrical milestones.
Monitor project progress through forecasting, trend analysis, and schedule performance indicators to identify risks and delays.
Support planning management during project reviews, progress meetings, and decision‑making forums.
Provide planning input on critical activities such as civil works, equipment installation, testing & commissioning, and energization.
Develop project cost structures and tender budgets in SAP to support effective cost control for electrical scopes.
Coordinate with Engineering, Construction, Procurement, and Finance teams to ensure accurate and timely project updates.
Analyze schedule and cost reports; issue tailored reports (daily, weekly, monthly) based on project criticality.
Collaborate with Finance to validate cost forecasts, budget revisions, and planned vs. actual performance (POC).
Prepare and maintain dashboards using Primavera P6, Power BI, and MS Project for management reporting.
Prepare Operational Risk Management (ORM) reports highlighting schedule, cost, and execution risks specific to electrical projects.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 6–10 years of experience in planning, scheduling, and project controls within EPC or large‑scale projects.
Proven experience in substation and/or OHTL projects is mandatory.
Strong hands‑on experience with Primavera P6 and advanced Microsoft Excel.
Solid knowledge of cost control, budgeting, and schedule analysis.
Experience with SAP, Power BI, and MS Project is preferred.
Proven analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
Experience in infrastructure, energy, utilities, or EPC environments is highly desirable.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in a fast‑paced, collaborative setting.
