Assists pharmacists in compounding, packaging, and distributing drugs; maintains related records.
Education/Licensure:
Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited university from Saudi Arabia (Essential).
Valid Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) Classification and Registration in good standing (Essential).
Professional Experience:
Minimum of one (1) year experience working in capacity of Assistant Pharmacist or equivalent in Hospital Pharmacy (preferable).
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Reads physician’s medication orders/prescriptions and prepares medication for distribution under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
Inputs physician’s medication orders into Pharmacy computer system and maintains related records under the supervision of a pharmacist.
Files work records as per established policy and procedure.
Performs daily, weekly, and monthly statistics as per work schedule.
Assists in the appropriate operation of automated pharmacy system including but not limited to report generation and stocking.
Prepares extemporaneous products, IV admixtures, and other sterile products using approved procedures and techniques.
Packages medications in accordance with daily and weekly schedules as per Departmental procedures.
Collects medication orders and delivers filled orders to patient care areas.
Produces computer labels as required for packaging of Pharmacy products.
Assists in review of all stock for expired medications via established procedures.
Assists in maintaining appropriate records of all activities in the Pharmacy according to established policies and procedures.
Maintains appropriate stock levels in all pharmacy work areas.
Maintains, fills and distributes unit medication stocks in all nursing stations.
Maintains assigned work areas in a neat, clean and orderly manner.
Conducts quality improvement tasks in conjunction with other staff members.
Performs all duties in a professional, effective and confidential manner.
Performs other tasks as required and assigned.
