They must be able to take direction from the Head Chef but also work independently to create imaginative dishes. This role also involves planning menus for special occasions and ensuring that all dishes served are of the highest standard.

The ideal candidate should have experience in creating various types of desserts and pastries as well as a solid understanding of food hygiene regulations. They should have excellent organizational skills, an eye for detail, and strong communication skills to liaise effectively with other chefs and kitchen staff. A creative flair is essential, along with the ability to work quickly under pressure. The Pastry Chef must also possess excellent presentation skills to deliver stunning displays for customers.
