Job summary

Malaysia Airlines is seeking an Officer, Cargo Maintenance Support & Facilities to ensure proper upkeep of GSE and cargo handling equipment at PENAP. You will ensure safety standards, adapt to regulatory requirements, and coordinate with other departments to maintain readiness of all facilities.

This role requires 2–3 years in cargo operations or facilities maintenance, with strong planning, teamwork, and computer skills. Shift flexibility may be required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum education as listed; 2–3 years cargo ops or facilities maintenance experience.
  • Experience with ground support equipment (GSE) or warehouse facilities preferred.
  • Experience with cargo airlines/forwarding agents in logistics sector.

Officer, Cargo Maintenance Support & Facilities

Reports To

Senior Officer, Operations Support and Facilities

Role Purpose

The role is responsible for ensuring that all equipment and property at MAB Kargo Penang Airport (PENAP), such as dollies, trolleys, the Pallet Container Handling System (PCHS), weighing scales, dock levelers, cold/chiller rooms, and forklifts are properly maintained. It also ensures compliance with relevant regulations from local authorities like DOSH, DOE, COSH, Bomba, and others. The position promotes good housekeeping, safety, and discipline in the workplace, encourages teamwork among fitters, and carries out maintenance tasks to keep equipment and facilities running efficiently.

Key Accountability
  • Ensure all maintenance activities meet quality standards from aviation authorities, manufacturers, and customer requirements.
  • Ensure vendor work meets management's standard specifications.
  • Coordinate with other departments to provide necessary resources for maintenance.
  • Ensure all property-related matters comply with relevant regulations (e.g., Bomba Act, DOSH, DOE).
  • Achieve department targets for equipment and facility serviceability.
  • Perform other duties assigned by superiors as needed.
  • Ensure all work and safety processes comply with Integrated Management System requirements.
  • Promote a sense of quality among team members and maintain good housekeeping practices.
  • Follow department procedures (POS/IP01-POS/IP05) and achieve targets set by the Department Head.
Qualifications & Working Experience
  • Minimum SPM,SPMV,DVM, STPM, SKM, Certificate, Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Aviation Management or a related field.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in cargo operations, facility maintenance, or logistics support.
  • Experience in handling ground support equipment (GSE) or warehouse facilities is an added advantage.
  • Experienced in working with cargo airlines, forwarding agents, or factories within the logistics sector/manufacturing.
Personality Traits
  • Strong understanding of maintenance procedures and safety regulations (DOSH, DOE, Bomba, etc.).
  • Good coordination and communication skills to liaise with vendors, contractors, and internal departments.
  • Ability to plan, monitor, and ensure operational readiness of all equipment and facilities.
  • Computer literate (MS Office, SAP, or other maintenance tracking systems).
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Able to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Willing to work on shifts or during irregular hours if required.
