Our dedicated Cost Management team at RLB KSA is responsible for seeing a project through from the initial concept stages to completion. Their main task is to break down projects into stages, taking responsibility for monitoring and managing the programme, cost, quality, and risk of each stage of the project. Our Cost Management team works closely with clients, advising them on financial matters, project risks, procurement, contractual and contract matters using our depth of experience to provide an informed, independent professional opinion.

This is an exciting opportunity for high calibre MEP Quantity Surveyors to join and strengthen our Post-Contract Quantity Surveying team. A strong track record in post-contract is key to this requirement, specifically in the Cost Control and Contractual Administration of FIDIC construction contracts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Integrate as a part of the team responsible for the commercial and contractual performance of the project.
  • Carry out assigned duties efficiently and in accordance with processes and procedures.
  • Comply with established commercial/procurement/contractual strategies.
  • Operate processes for the selection, appointment, and management of construction and engineering contractors.
  • Conduct thorough cost analysis and provide recommendations for cost savings.
  • Prepare detailed reports on cost variations and project progress.
  • Utilize expertise in cost consultancy to support clients in achieving their project goals.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to ensure cost-effective solutions are implemented.
  • Oversee all aspects of contract administration, ensuring compliance with procedural requirements and accurate handling of notices, claims, and information exchange throughout the construction process.
  • Monitor project expenditures and budgets, maintaining strict cost control while providing timely and precise financial reporting during the post-contract phase.
  • Perform site measurements, prepare interim valuation reports, and manage client invoicing to guarantee accurate and timely payments to contractors.
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage contract variations, ensuring all changes impacting cost or schedule are thoroughly documented and accounted for.
  • Prepare and submit claims for additional payments or extensions of time, and handle resolution of contractual disputes to protect project interests.
  • Generate detailed financial reports reflecting the project’s fiscal status and progress, providing transparent updates to clients and key stakeholders.
  • Act as a primary point of contact, fostering effective communication and collaboration among clients, contractors, consultants, and other project stakeholders to support smooth and efficient project delivery.
Post Contract Quantity Surveying including:
  • Scrutinizing and verifying applications for interim payments
  • Managing the change control process
  • Producing cost reports and cost forecasting
  • Assisting Project Managers in preparing early warnings, instructions and compensation Events
  • Attending progress meetings
  • Conclude Final Accounts
Person Specification

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive proactive approach to the role and will be committed to delivering customer service excellence, with good commercial results.

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • A chartered member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors – MRICS (preferable)
  • A minimum of 4 years experience post degree delivering Cost Management Services, with specific experience delivering MEP projects
  • Client-facing, ensuring a high standard of technical delivery with excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in construction contracts
  • Ability to successfully manage complex projects in a proactive and diligent manner
  • Well organised, diligent, proactive, assertive, well-disciplined and commercially astute
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English both written and verbal
  • A track record of working with teams and managing projects by prioritising workloads and delivering to deadlines
  • A team player with a ‘can do’ attitude
  • The ability to deliver in a reactive environment, responding quickly and accurately, under pressure.
