Job summary

Penspen is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer - Rotating for a major FEED project in Al Khobar, KSA. The role requires strong offshore and onshore rotating equipment experience and delivery across FEED, detailed design, and EPC phases.

Candidates should have a mechanical engineering degree, 12+ years in Oil & Gas, and exposure to construction and commissioning, with proficiency in Excel and familiarity with Saudi Aramco standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 12+ years experience in Oil & Gas sector.
• At least 8 years in mechanical rotating for major Oil & Gas / Petrochemical projects.
• Exposure to construction and commissioning phases.
• MS Excel proficiency.
• Familiarity with Saudi Aramco standards; brownfield FEED/EPC experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead rotating equipment engineering activities for FEED, detailed design, and EPC phases of oil & gas projects.
• Develop data sheets, specifications, and requisitions for rotating equipment such as compressors, pumps, turbines, blowers, and packaged systems.
• Review vendor offers, perform technical bid evaluations, and participate in vendor meetings and design reviews.
• Ensure compliance with API, ASME, ISO, and other relevant international standards.
• Coordinate with process, piping, instrumentation, and electrical disciplines for equipment integration.
• Review vendor documents (GA drawings, datasheets, performance curves, etc.) and ensure timely approval.
• Provide technical support during procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases.
• Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, and design review workshops.
• Mentor junior engineers and review their deliverables for quality and accuracy.
• Support client and internal audits and ensure adherence to project quality and safety standards.
