We are seeking a qualified Mechanical Inspector to join our Project and Construction Management team for a major Roads Program in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This role sits within our Infrastructure Division and is essential to ensure that all mechanical work, particularly those related to utilities, pumping stations, mechanical equipment, and associated infrastructure, are executed to the required standards of quality, safety, and compliance.
As a Mechanical Inspector, you will supervise and inspect contractors’ mechanical installations on site, verify compliance with approved drawings and specifications, and support the project team in delivering high‑quality construction supervision services.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct daily inspections of mechanical works, including piping systems, pumping stations, valves, mechanical equipment installation, HVAC systems (if applicable), fire‑fighting networks, and utility-related mechanical components.
- Ensure that all materials, equipment, and workmanship comply with project specifications, approved drawings, and relevant international standards.
- Monitor contractors’ activities to ensure adherence to QA/QC procedures, approved method statements, and safety requirements.
- Report non‑conformances (NCRs), potential issues, or safety violations to senior staff and follow up on corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections, site observations, test results, and daily progress activities.
- Coordinate with the materials testing laboratory and third‑party testing agencies to verify mechanical testing requirements and ensure timely results.
- Review and verify contractors’ Requests for Inspection (RFIs) and participate in approval and acceptance processes.
- Support the Senior Mechanical Engineer in reviewing shop drawings, method statements, material submittals, and technical documentation.
- Assist in verifying mechanical as‑built works and handover documentation during project close‑out.
- Foster strong coordination and communication with other discipline inspectors and project stakeholders to ensure effective and seamless site operations.
ABOUT YOU
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Mechanical Technology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction supervision, preferably on infrastructure, utilities, pumping stations, or mechanical systems within major projects.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, piping works, equipment installation, and quality control requirements.
- Familiarity with international standards such as ASME, ASTM, API, NFPA, or equivalent.
- Experience working with government entities or major PMCM infrastructure projects in KSA is an advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
- Strong attention to detail, reporting accuracy, and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency in English; Arabic language skills are an added benefit.
