Job summary

SYSTRA is seeking a Mechanical Engineering professional to lead site-based construction activities for complex mechanical systems. The role covers review of shop drawings, site inspections, ITR maintenance, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project quality and safety.

Ideal candidate has 5+ years of hands-on experience with HVAC, smoke management, plumbing, firefighting, escalators, and elevators in large-scale projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of site-based experience on construction projects.
• Strong ability to interpret and execute mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
• Sound understanding of multidisciplinary interfaces and construction processes.
• Good knowledge of site management practices, construction safety requirements, and quality control procedures.
• Strong technical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with contractors, consultants, clients, and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor mechanical construction activities in accordance with approved drawings, method statements, project specifications, and safety requirements.
• Review contractor mechanical shop drawings in coordination with structural, architectural, and electrical disciplines to ensure proper integration and compliance.
• Conduct regular site inspections and evaluate subcontractor performance to ensure quality and compliance with project requirements.
• Support and guide site inspectors on mechanical engineering matters and assist in resolving technical issues.
• Work closely with site inspectors to maintain complete and accurate Inspection and Test Records ITRs.
• Review site preparation activities and temporary works to verify compliance with contract documents and project standards.
• Supervise mechanical installations and monitor contractor construction schedules related to MEP works.
• Identify report and assist in resolving technical issues related to HVAC, smoke management systems, plumbing, firefighting systems, escalators, elevators, and other mechanical services.
• Maintain and track mechanical defects, snags and punch-list items ensuring timely corrective action by contractors.
• Review and provide comments on testing and commissioning results for mechanical systems.
• Attend project meetings, site progress meetings, and technical coordination meetings with clients and project stakeholders.
• Monitor compliance with site safety, health, environmental and security requirements.
• Assist in planning and sequencing construction activities in accordance with the Project Quality Plan.
• Monitor work progress and support verification for progress payments and schedule reporting.
• Review Field Change Requests FCRs and provide technical input regarding mechanical-related variations and claims.
• Implement corrective actions to address delays and support timely completion of project objectives.
• Prepare daily reports, inspection reports, estimates and other project documentation as required.
• Participate in final inspections, snagging activities and project closeout processes.

Missions Main Duties
