Job summary

UCC Holding is seeking a Mechanical Construction Coordinator to oversee the mechanical trades on major projects in Saudi Arabia. You will assist in planning, scheduling, cost control and quality assurance to ensure on-time delivery and integrity of mechanical systems.

Job description

Assists in coordinating and managing the Mechanical trades on major construction projects. Works with the entire Project team to ensure successful completion of all Mechanical trade work through the testing and commissioning phase and handover. Assists in meeting the project objectives through planning and scheduling, resource allocation, project accounting, cost control (when applicable), provide technical direction and ensure compliance with all quality standards.

Job Responsibilities:
  • The engineering design and supervision (coordination) aspects of building a manufacturing facility. The engineering aspects of a specific project, such as development of a product or solution to a problem.
  • Creates a full and comprehensive list of all Mechanical materials required for the project Contract Items List (CIL)
  • Performs Quality control check of Mechanical Subcontract’s Contract Items list with the project CIL.
  • Ensures to receive all Requests for Information, assess, record, forward as required.
  • Ensures to receive and review all System Shop Drawings.
  • Coordinates all System Shop Drawings with all Contract Documents including at a minimum the Mechanical plans, Architectural Plans, Reflected Ceiling Plans, The Structural Plans in order to establish a full and comprehensive set of coordinated drawings.
  • Participates in the selection, sourcing and final coordination of all final fix fixtures (lighting, wiring devices, plates and covers, etc…)
  • Develops and/or supervises the Mechanical activities assembly via all contract documents a comprehensive Contract Items List, shop drawings and final coordinated drawing.
  • Assists in executing and/or supervising the assembly of all subcontract package related materials including general and special conditions into the Technical Package required for tendering.
  • Assists in establishing and maintaining a comprehensive document control procedure and process consistent with company standards.
  • Supports the MEP manager to establish and maintains a registry derived from the Contract Items List for the receipt, evaluation, coordination and reconciliation of all material submittals, samples and/or shop drawings with IFC drawings and any/or all other applicable trade drawings.
  • Monitors all required documents, certifications, permits and/or No Objection Certificates for authorities having jurisdiction – intervene as necessary to obtain project objectives through influence and effective strategy.
  • Ensures to coordinate the efforts of all parties involved in the project, which include the architects, consultants, contractors, sub-contractors and staff.
  • Establishes and maintains minimum monitoring requirements for material acquisition from subcontractors.
2. Construction Management:

Overall planning, coordination, and control of a project from beginning to completion. Construction management is aimed at meeting a client's requirement in order to produce a functionally and financially viable project.

  • Ensures to resource Load the Mechanical plan and publish summations of all requirements
  • Assists in designing and supervising aspects of building a manufacturing facility.
  • Assists in planning, coordinating, and controlling the project from beginning to completion.
  • Acquires goods or services to accomplish the goals of the company to maintain the quality and value of the company's products.
  • Deals with the allocation of assets and liabilities.
3. Purchasing:
  • Acquires goods or services to accomplish the goals of the company to maintain the quality and value of the company's products, minimizes cash tied up in inventory, maintain the flow of inputs to maintain the flow of outputs.
  • Ensures the Mechanical related subcontracts carry equal risk as the main contract (i.e. back-to-back)
  • Ensures to understand and participate in the Mechanical tendering processes as guided by the Procurement department
4. Accounting & Finance:
  • Deals with the allocation of assets and liabilities over time under conditions of certainty and uncertainty.
  • Ensures using the project budget and the contract value develop a Schedule of Values for all Mechanical works
  • Ensures work in place meets or exceeds the minimum value for the planned effort for all Mechanical works
  • Identifies, analyzes, assesses, controls, and avoids, minimizes, or eliminates of unacceptable risks.
  • Identify the elements of Mechanical design and construction likely to give rise to disputes and claims.
  • Supports the MEP manager in preparing plans for any potential Authorities changes or disruptions as it pertains to Mechanical
  • Ensures to support the MEP manager to Contractually respond to all written communication for client, design team, supervising consultant, subcontractors, public utilities and/or government entities as it relates to Mechanical systems and activities
