Job summary

Koch is seeking an engineering professional to provide on-the-floor support for operations and maintenance, focusing on equipment performance and safety improvements. You will help transform the plant through automation upgrades, process enhancements, and scalable transformation priorities.

You will read and modify drawings, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and provide training to maintenance and production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of equipment safety systems and safe working practices.
• Ability to read and interpret pneumatic and hydraulic schematics.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with conveyors, air compressors, fans, mixers, chillers, cooling towers, RO/DI plants, and generators.
• Experience in continuous process automation plants.
• Experience leading engineering projects and with fluid systems (air, cooling water, pure water).

Responsibilities

What You Will Do

Provide on-the-floor Engineering support to operations & maintenance to understand equipment performance, troubleshoot issues in a timely manner, and evaluate system capabilities.

Actively participate indriving a safety culture where employees address unsafe conditions, unsafe behaviours and participate and make suggestions for improvements.

Execute capital projects including upgrades to plant systems, process equipment, and scalable transformation priorities.

Generate mechanical requirements and estimates for projects and equipment upgrades.

Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.

Oversee the installation, operation, maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment such as conveying systems, automated stacking equipment, batching operations and combustion furnace operations.

Read, modify and create technical drawings, schematics and computer-generated models.

Provide training and technical support to Maintenance and Production Departments.

Investigate equipment failures and make recommendations for solutions to manufacturing processes.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Good knowledge of equipment safety systems and safe working practices.
• Strong ability to read and interpret pneumatic and hydraulic schematic diagrams.
• Good mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting experience with industrial and facility equipment, including conveyors, air compressors, fan alignment, mixers, chiller systems, cooling towers, R/O and DI plants, and generators.
• Experience working in continuous process automation plants.
• Experience in leading and supporting engineering projects.Experience with fluid systems, including air, cooling water, and pure water systems.

What Will Put You Ahead

Experience managing multiple projects and priorities effectively.

Experience with AutoCAD, and/or other CAD packages.

Experience with practical mechanical design, fabrication, and manufacturing support.

Experience with preventative and predictive maintenance.

Experience with NFPA code and piping.
