Job description

To provide technical assistance and advice to the Superintendent on issues regarding material management and long term planning to ensure that issues and problems in the division is addressed and resolved in order to relieve pressure on peers and letting them focus more on their respective areas

Responsibilities

• Applies approved section policies, processes, and procedures and monitors adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner
• Applies the day-to-day operations assigned for the Planning and Business Support department to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures
• Conducts long term business planning of the department to ensure that all action plans are designed in order to address future warehousing and purchasing requirements of the company
• Collates and reviews new technology, operating procedures and advances in systems and philosophies via scientific & professional Journals, publications, seminars and exhibitions to provide Superintendent on adoption of best practice that would prove beneficial to the department and the company as a whole
• Assists in the preparation of timely and accurate reports for division in order to meet Company and section requirements, policies and standards
• Complies with all relevant safety, health and environmental procedures to ensure a healthy and safe work environment
• Performs other related duties or assignments as directed
