Job summary

Weatherford is seeking a Manual Lathe/Milling Machinist II in our Oil & Gas machine shop to machine, repair, and refurbish downhole tools and tubular products using manual lathes. You will cut API threads, read engineering drawings, perform inspections, and maintain records while adhering to API and safety standards.

Qualifications include a minimum high school/ITI/technical diploma and 4 years of manual lathe/milling experience in oil & gas.Shift work and up to 10% travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School, ITI, or Technical Diploma in a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of manual lathe/milling machining experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
• Experience with API thread repair, downhole tools, and tubular products.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and use precision measuring equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work shift schedules and overtime as required.
• Up to 10% travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and set up manual lathe/milling machines.
• Machine, repair, and refurbish downhole tools and tubular products.
• Cut and recut API, premium, tubing, casing threads.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Perform dimensional inspections using precision measuring tools.
• Conduct routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Ensure compliance with API, quality, and safety requirements.
• Maintain production and inspection records.
• Support continuous improvement, 5S and operational efficiency initiatives.
• Work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams.
