Demonstrated experience leading structured problem solving for complex product issues, including containment, root cause analysis, corrective action development and effectiveness verification. Strong working knowledge of vehicle structures, closures and/or low-voltage electrical distribution systems, with the ability to manage cross-system interfaces in a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated experience in escalation management efficiently with competing priorities between functions in the plant. Expertise in using failure mode management tools in product & process development lifecycle (DFMEA/DVP&R/DFM/DFA/PFMEA/Control Plan etc). Exceptional communication & documentation skills are required. Develop processes, tools, & standards to enable efficient use of resources within the team as per pre-defined scope & associated cross-functional engagement. Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, Safe Launch, VMEA/FMEA, 8D, PPS or similar structured problem-solving and quality methods. Experience using Jira, PLM, issue management systems and production quality data to manage engineering execution and escalation transparency. Six Sigma Black belt certification is preferred. Collegiate FSAE/BAJA/Similar experience is preferred. 10+ years of automotive product engineering experience, including production, launch, sustaining engineering or resident engineering exposure. Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related technical discipline. 5+ years of engineering leadership, people management or technical team leadership experience, including responsibility for prioritization, coaching and execution across multiple engineers or workstreams. Experience with BIW manufacturing, closure assembly, sealing systems, mechanisms, stampings, castings, extrusions, joining systems and LV harness routing or packaging.
