Job summary

BAE Systems Saudi Arabia seeks a MOF Team Leader to drive day-to-day management of the Maintenance Operations Flight. You will ensure qualified personnel, enforce procedures, and coordinate with RSAF and ILOC to sustain aircraft availability at Taif and during deployments.

The role requires proven leadership, extensive fast-jet maintenance experience, and strong English communication in a high-tempo environment. Expatriate benefits and living arrangements are provided in Saudi Arabia.

Qualifications

  • Must be educated to HNC level or recognised equivalent or have relevant experience supported by formal, recorded workplace applied related training.
  • Proven potential/actual leadership ability in a high tempo aircraft maintenance delivery driven environment.
  • Proven managerial experience within the aerospace industry preferably gained on 3rd and/or 4th Generation military aircraft at Supervisor level or equivalent.
  • Must have completed a recognised aircraft engineering apprenticeship in industry/military or similar qualification in aircraft systems.
  • Must have extensive proven post qualification experience of military fast jet maintenance support, within an operational military flying environment
  • Good level of interpersonal skill to co-ordinate a number of activities and the ability to communicate, influence and direct decision making.
  • Good understanding of company processes and procedures and industry knowledge.
  • Fluent in English
  • The ability to act upon their own initiative within the scope of their job.
  • A conscientious approach to work and meticulous attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Control and supervision of all engineering and maintenance operations personnel within their area of responsibility.
  • POC with the ILOC to implement HQ strategy within the maintenance organisation.
  • Ensuring that all continuing airworthiness and maintenance operations activities are carried out by qualified personnel.
  • Ensuring activities within their control are covered by the appropriate delegated authorities.
  • Adhere to RSAF procedures and promote Health and Safety practices within their area.
  • Maintain MOF local procedures and orders for quick reference.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of aircraft status and related authorisations.
  • Oversee training and career development of subordinates.
  • Coordinate Engineering & Logistical support for Typhoon A/C at Taif or on operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement through RSAF CI processes.
  • Plan and monitor maintenance to meet deployments of Typhoon AGF.
  • Provide advisory measures to MOFC/MSC to protect maintenance performance.
  • Manage daily Flying Programme asset allocation.
  • Carry out counterpart training for RSAF Maintenance Officers.
  • Ensure MOF day-to-day operations have qualified manpower.
  • Control aircraft movement to meet QRA and training flights; ensure timely servicing.
  • Prepare and present Daily Maintenance Brief to MSC and senior management.
  • Attend meetings on behalf of MOF Commander about Fleet issues.
  • Monitor Fleet Plan for flying hours and fatigue index.

JOB PURPOSE

BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

The Maintenance Operations Flight (MOF) Team Leader will advise and assist the MOF Commander (MOFC) in the day-to-day management of the MOF responsibilities. In addition, they will ensure all personnel are appropriately qualified and understand the processes and procedures employed within their assigned areas of responsibility. They are also responsible for briefing the MOFC and the Maintenance Squadron Commander (MSC) on issues that affect the availability of aircraft and for the production and analysis of engineering and logistics statistics to improve aircraft availability at both the Main Operating Base and also on Deployed Operations. The Job holder serves as the point of contact between the Integrated Logistics Operations Centre (ILOC) and the MOF for the implementation of the strategic and tactical maintenance management of the assigned Typhoon fleet. Supervising and managing Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) personnel and BAE Systems staff, as well as perform mentoring and consolidation development of RSAF counterparts within the MOF environment.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Control and supervision of all engineering and maintenance operations personnel within their area of responsibility.
  • POC with the ILOC to implement HQ strategy within the maintenance organisation
  • Ensuring that all continuing airworthiness and maintenance operations activities conducted within their area of responsibility are carried out in accordance with current processes and procedures by appropriately authorised, qualified and competent personnel.
  • Ensuring that all activities within Their control is covered by the appropriate delegated authorities.
  • Ensuring all personnel under their control adhere to RSAF procedures as laid down in the Logistics Management Regulation (LMR) Coaching, mentoring and delivering consolidation development to all RSAF and BAE personnel under their direction and control.
  • Ensuring that all personnel engaged in activities in their area of responsibility follow the correct procedures and as the Senior Leader of the team, actively promote and ensure Health and Safety practices in their area of responsibility and that as far as is reasonably practicable ensuring that no one is exposed to any unnecessary or uncontrolled risk.
  • Maintaining and updating MOF local procedures and orders which are to be held readily available within the MOF
  • Ensure accurate reporting of aircraft status, ETICS and Rob authorisations Within their organisational structure is responsible for the personal and career development of their subordinates
  • Ensure that the Safety Management Systems and Maintenance Error Management Systems are understood by staff under Their direction and control Ensuring that relevant Safety Management Systems and Maintenance Error Management Systems are understood and implemented by staff under their leadership.
  • Responsible for the co-ordination of Engineering & Logistical support of Typhoon A/C based at Taif or detached on operation, exercises or trials
  • Responsible for coordinating the RSAF process of continual improvement, ensuring all personnel under their responsibility support the CI process
  • Planning, implementing and monitoring the maintenance effort to meet operational deployments of the Typhoon AGF as directed by the MSC
  • Providing advice and recommendations to the MOFC and appropriate counter measures, where activities are likely to prejudice maintenance performance, safety and the integrity of the Typhoon Fleet and implementing those measures as directed by the RSAF.
  • Manage the Plans and Schedules Section IAW RSAF 4-7166-1-2, ensuring correct allocation of assets for the Daily Flying Programme
  • Carry out Counterpart Training of RSAF Maintenance Officers as allocated to the MOF
  • Responsible to the MOFC for Day to Day running of the MOF ensuring adequate qualified manpower available to carry out the duties of the MOF
  • Controls the movement of aircraft between units ensuring that all requirements are met for QRA, Operations (FOB’s) and Training Flights, also ensuring that aircraft return to MOB for required servicing in a timely manner, both Out of Phase and Scheduled Maintenance
  • Compilation and presentation of the Daily Maintenance Brief to the MSC and Senior Company Management, ensuring the Fleet Status is accurately presented.
  • Attend meetings on behalf of the MOF Cdr, relating to Fleet Issues
  • Monitor the Fleet ensuring the Fleet Plan is followed for Flying Hours and Fatigue Index.
RECRUITMENT
Essential

  • Previous experience within an Engineering Operations environment
