Job summary

BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is seeking an experienced Armament Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor to oversee consolidation training and supervise RSAF and trainee technicians on Typhoon aircraft.

You will lead on-the-job training, ensure compliance with maintenance procedures, and provide technical mentoring within a secure, high-profile environment.

• Extensive post-qualification, practical maintenance experience within operational flying aircraft environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Armament aircraft maintenance activities including detailed troubleshooting and rectification.
• Carry out flight line duties as directed.
• Raise Technical Publication Review Forms (TPRF) against approved data.
• Assist with raising Technical Requests (TRs) for aircraft anomalies.
• Provide 100% supervision to assigned RSAF or BAE SN Trainee Technicians at level ‘A’.
• Provide and supervise consolidation training and mentoring to RSAF or BAE SN personnel leading to first signature.

Job description

JOB PURPOSE

BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

To carry out Armament aircraft maintenance activities and Supervise the Consolidation Training (OJT) of assigned RSAF Technicians and Saudi National BAE Systems Trainees in support of the RSAF Typhoon Flying programme and generate aircraft to achieve the contracted Operational Ready Rates in accordance with best industry practice, BAE Systems procedures, the Maintenance Organisation Exposition and the RSAF Regulatory Framework

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Carrying out Armament aircraft maintenance activities including detailed troubleshooting and rectification.
• Carrying out flight line duties as directed.
• Raising Technical Publication Review Forms (TPRF) against approved data.
• Assist with raising Technical Requests (TRs) for any aircraft related anomalies.
• Support the work centre Supervisor in ensuring shift handovers are accurate.
• Adhering to tool control procedures.
• Adhering to the use of only approved data.
• Carrying out good husbandry practices.
• Hold 2nd signature.
• Provide 100% supervision to assigned RSAF or BAE SN Trainee Technicians at level ‘A’
• Provide and Supervise consolidation training and mentoring to assigned RSAF or BAE Systems SN personnel leading to the award of 1st signature (Technician).
• Provide Training Guidance and mentoring of nominated RSAF or BAE SN personnel leading to the award of 2nd (Supervisor) signature.
• Providing Supervisory 2nd Signature (over sign) for engineering and maintenance tasks carried out by the RSAF or BAE Systems SN in support of consolidation training (OJT) on operational aircraft.
• Maintain accurate log books for the assigned RSAF or BAE SN technician.
• Liaise with RSAF and BAE Systems management in order to identify any training opportunities or to highlight any potential training shortfalls.
• Support the production of monthly progress reports to identify training progression.

RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION

• Have extensive post qualification, practical maintenance experience within operational flying aircraft environment supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training OR substantial on Typhoon experience.
• Leadership skills and proven ability to supervise all levels of engineering personnel.
• A recognised qualification to NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC level in a relevant technical discipline, or a technical apprenticeship, or suitable equivalent technical qualification acceptable to M&CA.
• Relevant type training (‘Q’ Course) and equipment specific training if required,
• Saudi Engineering Council (SEC) Registration.
• Thorough understanding of company processes and procedures
• Broad aerospace and defence company / industry knowledge.
• Proven supervisory experience within the area of definition.
