Job summary

InterContinental The Red Sea Resort is seeking a Rooms Controller to ensure smooth daily room operations. You will manage room allocations, prepare for arrivals, coordinate with Front Office, Housekeeping, Reservations, Revenue, Engineering and other departments to optimize inventory and guest satisfaction.

The role requires experience in Front Office or Rooms Division, strong attention to detail, and excellent English communication. Flexibility for shifts in a luxury setting is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous Front Office, Reservations or Rooms Division experience in a hotel environment.
• Experience in luxury or upscale hospitality is preferred.
• Strong understanding of room inventory, reservations, and Front Office operations.
• Familiarity with hotel property management and reservation systems.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Review upcoming arrivals, departures, occupancy and room inventory for daily planning.
• Pre-assign rooms based on preferences and availability.
• Identify VIP guests and special stay requirements for pre-arrival prep.
• Update guest profiles, preferences and arrival times accurately.
• Prepare for group arrivals with rooming lists and billing instructions.
• Coordinate room readiness with Housekeeping and Engineering, handle out-of-order rooms.
• Balance room categories to maximize occupancy while preserving guest experience.
• Escalate potential inventory issues or overbooking to leaders.
• Support mobile and digital check-in/out where applicable.
• Ensure room assignments and routing details are correct before arrival.
• Review traces, alerts and outstanding guest requests for follow-up.
• Monitor folios and payment risks; coordinate follow-up actions.
• Assist Front Office with room moves, late check-outs and changes to reservations.
• Review discrepancies between hotel systems and correct as needed.
• Handle guest concerns and service recovery timely.
• Track guest feedback and escalate recurring issues to leadership.
• Prepare daily operational reports for Front Office leadership.
