Position Summary

OATI is seeking an experienced systems professional for the position of Linux Systems Specialist, to design, deploy, and maintain Linux-based infrastructure supporting OATI operations and customer deployments within the energy industry. The role requires demonstrated proficiency in Red Hat Linux administration, web servers, database platforms, configuration management, infrastructure monitoring, and scripting. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring high availability, system resilience, and optimal performance across Linux environments. Location

The position is based in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Candidates must be resident in or able to relocate to Riyadh at their own arrangement. OATI does not provide a relocation allowance for this position.

The position shall be performed on a hybrid basis, with the employee primarily working remotely from a home office. However, the employee shall be required to attend the OATI office in Riyadh or other designated OATI or customer facilities whenever reasonably requested by OATI, including for meetings, business requirements, or other activities requiring in-person attendance.

Reporting Relationship

• Technically: to the IT Infrastructure Manager, OATI headquarters (Bloomington), for technical direction, project priorities, and quality of output.
• Administratively: to the Country Manager, OATI Saudi Arabia Branch, for in-Kingdom conduct, compliance, and Branch representation.
• Leave, travel, expenses, and day to day administrative support are handled through the OATI Administration Manager at headquarters in the United States.

• Design and deploy Red Hat Linux infrastructure, including system architecture, security hardening, kernel tuning, and best practices implementation.
• Install, configure, and maintain nginx web servers for application hosting and reverse proxy functionality.
• Administer and optimize PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases, including installation, configuration, backup, recovery, and performance tuning.
• Implement and manage infrastructure configuration management using Ansible for automation and consistency across systems.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize Python scripts for system administration, automation, monitoring, and operational efficiency.
• Implement and manage Red Hat High Availability clustering solutions using pacemaker and corosync for system redundancy and failover.
• Deploy and maintain Icinga monitoring infrastructure (or equivalent such as Nagios) for proactive system and application monitoring.
• Monitor system performance, availability, security, and resource utilization; identify issues and implement preventive measures.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and elevate where necessary; document resolutions and lessons learned.
• Maintain technical documentation, including configurations, runbooks, disaster recovery procedures, and infrastructure diagrams.
• Coordinate with OATI headquarters technical teams on infrastructure projects, upgrades, and support activities.
• Maintain compliance with OATI security policies, data protection standards, and Saudi Arabia regulatory requirements.
• Provide technical support and guidance to other OATI Saudi Arabia Branch staff on infrastructure-related matters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum five years of experience as a Red Hat Linux administrator or comparable infrastructure role.
• Demonstrated expertise in Red Hat Linux administration and system configuration.
• Hands‑on experience installing, configuring, and administering nginx web servers.
• Proven experience administering PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases, including backup and recovery procedures.
• Proficiency in Ansible for configuration management and infrastructure automation.
• Proficiency in Python scripting for system administration and automation.
• Experience implementing and managing Red Hat High Availability clustering based on pacemaker and corosync.
• Experience deploying and maintaining Icinga or similar monitoring solutions (such as Nagios).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to document procedures and communicate technical concepts.
• Experience working with remote teams and in multinational environments.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple assignments.
• Acceptable background investigation report.
• Resident in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Certifications (Preferred)

• Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
