Job summary

Parsons is seeking a Senior Power Supply Engineer – Rail in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to lead traction power supply system delivery for major metro and railway projects. You will oversee electrical design, installation, testing, commissioning, and technical assurance across AC/DC systems.

The role requires deep expertise in traction power design, substations, power electronics, and rail interfaces, with proven leadership on large-scale infrastructure programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 15 years of Traction Power Supply System engineering experience, preferably on metro or railway projects.
• Proven track record delivering traction power and railway electrification on major infrastructure programs.
• Strong knowledge of high- and low-voltage power systems for railway networks.
• Familiarity with national and international standards for railway power systems and electrical safety.
• Experience with AC/DC traction power systems, substations, and electrification.
• Knowledge of 600V/750V DC and 25kV electrification.
• Experience with SCADA, PLC, protection systems, and control systems in rail projects.
• Ability to lead technical reviews, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and resolve complex electrical interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Lead traction power system design, analysis, and delivery across rail projects.
• Ensure compliance with drawings, specs, method statements, and standards.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineers and contractors.
• Develop engineering calculations, models, and design solutions.
• Prepare power system studies and performance assessments.
• Conduct load flow, short-circuit, and protection coordination studies.
• Lead installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of traction power systems.
• Coordinate interfaces with SCADA, PLC, protection, signaling, telecoms, and rolling stock teams.
• Prepare technical proposals, reports, and cost estimates.
• Review documentation including as-built, O&M manuals, and commissioning plans.
