Job summary

King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Riyadh seeks a Laboratory Supervisor to lead and coordinate activities of technical assistants across multiple laboratory specialties, ensuring quality and timely specimen procurement.

The role requires a Bachelor's or Associate Degree in Medical or Laboratory Technology, with 1–2 years of related experience and SCHS registration. Bilingual English/Arabic communication is required to support hospital operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical or Laboratory Technology required.
• One year of related experience with Bachelor’s degree or two years with an Associate Degree/Diploma.
• Current registration from SCHS is required.
• Bilingual English/Arabic for verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and resolves problems related to specimen procurement and activities of the technical assistants in specialty areas (Parasitology, Cytogenetics, Microscopy, Blood Transfusion Service).
• Receives daily schedules and assigns technical assistants to specific areas of the Hospital and clinics for specimen procurement.
• Assists in training new technical assistants.
• Oversees distribution of laboratory reports.
• Manages inventories and requisitions of blood-collecting supplies.
• Performs all duties of blood collecting as needed.
• Complies with section policies, procedures, and protocols; supports quality improvement per accreditation standards (CBAHI, JCI, CAP, SFDA).

Job description

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

1. Monitors and resolves problems related to specimen procurement and activities of the technical assistants and/or assists in specialty of the laboratory, including but not limited to Parasitology, Cytogenetics, Microscopy and Blood Transfusion Service.
2. Receives daily schedules and assigns technical assistants to specific areas of the Hospital and clinics for specimen procurement.
3. Assists in training new technical assistants.
4. Oversees distribution of laboratory reports.
5. Inventories and requisitions of blood-collecting supplies.
6. Performs all duties of blood collecting, etc. as needed.
7. Comply with the section policies, procedures, and protocols. Follows the section quality improvement program in accordance with CBAHI, JCI, CAP, SFDA and other accreditation international agencies standards

Experience Requirements

1. Follows all Hospital’s related Policies and Procedures.
2. Participates in self and others' education, training and development, as applicable.
3. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor’s or Associate Degree/Diploma in Medical or Laboratory Technology, or other related discipline is required.

Experience Required

One (1) year of related experience with Bachelor's or two (2) years with Associate Degree/Diploma is required.

Education Requirements

• Current Registration from country of origin and Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) is required.
• Bilingual skills (English/Arabic) is required for verbal and written communication purposes.
• Completion of approved accreditation according to country of origin is required for non-Saudi.
