Job summary

WSP in the Middle East seeks a Consultant – Fire & Life Safety to lead expert input on fire protection and life safety systems for large-scale projects in Riyadh, KSA. You will drive strategy development, engage with clients and stakeholders, and ensure compliance with Saudi and international codes and standards.

The role involves design oversight, risk assessment, inspections, testing, and mentoring junior staff, with opportunities to contribute to bids and industry thought leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field.
• 4–7 years of experience in fire life safety/protection engineering consulting.
• Knowledge of Saudi Building Code (SBC 201 and SBC 801) and international codes (UAE, IBC, NFPA, BS).

Responsibilities

• Design oversight for fire and life safety systems and prepare submissions and reports.
• Ensure designs comply with Saudi and international codes; assist audits and inspections.
• Support risk assessments and mitigation for complex projects.
• Assist testing and commissioning to meet requirements.
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, clients and authorities.
• Mentor junior consultants and promote best practices in fire safety engineering.
• Contribute to bids and client meetings; support thought leadership activities.
