Job summary

SAUDI ARABIAN RESOURCES COMPANY is seeking a Lab QA Specialist in Saudi Arabia to ensure laboratory excellence and regulatory compliance across fire assay and instrumental analysis. You will validate results, maintain ISO 17025 QMS, and oversee chain of custody for precious metals samples.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field, five years of experience in precious metals analysis, and English for technical documentation and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Metallurgy, or related field is required.
• Five years of hands-on experience in a precious metals assay or analytical laboratory is mandatory.
• In-depth knowledge of ISO 17025 standards for testing and calibration laboratories is essential.
• Proven expertise in fire assay techniques including flux selection and cupellation is required.
• Proficiency with ICP-OES, AAS, or XRF for elemental analysis is necessary.
• Strong skills in statistical analysis and measurement uncertainty calculation are required.
• Fluency in English for technical documentation and audits is required.
• Ability to work safely in an industrial environment with acids and high temperatures is mandatory.
• Nice-to-have: LBMA audits experience, Master’s degree, LIMS familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Validate assay results before certificate issuance to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain ISO 17025 compliant QMS and calibrations.
• Oversee chain of custody for dore samples and reference materials.
• Conduct internal audits of laboratory processes, inventories, and waste logs.
• Coordinate participation in external proficiency testing programs.
• Prepare documentation for LBMA, SASO, and customer audits.
• Investigate out-of-spec results and root causes; implement corrective actions.
• Assess staff competency and maintain training matrices.
• Calculate and review measurement uncertainty budgets for methods.
• Ensure chemical safety compliance and proper hazardous waste disposal.
• Support audit readiness and respond to auditor queries.
