Job summary

SGS is seeking a Junior Civil Structural Design Review Engineer (Saudi nationals) in Riyadh for a full-time, on-site role. You will assist in reviewing structural calculations, drawings, and models under supervision, and support the design review team with technical reports and deliverables.

You will help verify compliance with project requirements and codes, participate in coordination meetings, assist in shop drawing reviews, and contribute to BOQ preparation and site assessments as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
• Fresh graduate or up to 2 years of experience in structural engineering.
• Fluent in Arabic and English (written and spoken).
• Basic knowledge of reinforced concrete and steel structure design.
• Basic understanding of structural analysis and design principles.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000 or similar software is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of the Saudi Building Code (SBC) is an advantage.
• Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) or eligibility for registration.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Willingness to learn and develop within a professional engineering environment.
• Preference will be given to candidates who can join immediately.

Responsibilities

• Assist in reviewing structural calculations, drawings and design models under the supervision of senior engineers.
• Support the Design Review Team in the preparation of technical reports and deliverables.
• Assist in checking compliance of structural designs with project requirements, applicable codes, and standards.
• Participate in multidisciplinary coordination meetings and project discussions.
• Support site visits, technical assessments and inspections when required.
• Assist in reviewing shop drawings and material submittals for structural works.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders and site teams to collect technical information.
• Assist in the preparation of Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and quantity take offs.
• Support the resolution of technical issues identified during design review and projects execution.
• Perform other duties assigned by the line manager related to projects and departmental requirements.
• Maintain project documentation and engineering records.
• Continuously develop technical knowledge and stay updated with structural engineering practices and software tools.
