Job summary

Reef Group seeks an accomplished Interior Design Section Head to lead architectural and interior design across the Group’s retail branches and commercial locations. Position Title: Interior Design Section Head

Job Type: Full-Time

About the Role

Reef Group is seeking an experienced and creative Interior Design Section Head to lead and oversee architectural and interior design activities for retail branches and commercial locations across the Group.

The role will be responsible for developing and maintaining design standards, reviewing architectural and interior design outputs, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring that all designs are aligned with brand identity, operational requirements, commercial objectives, and expansion plans.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in retail and commercial design, with the ability to lead design activities, manage multiple projects, review technical outputs, and ensure consistent implementation of design standards across branches and markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead architectural and interior design activities for retail branches and commercial locations.
• Develop and maintain design standards, technical guidelines, and branch design manuals.
• Review architectural and interior design concepts, layouts, and drawings for new branches, renovations, and development projects.
• Ensure designs balance visual appeal, operational efficiency, customer experience, and effective space utilization.
• Oversee the design of store façades, internal spaces, product display areas, lighting, furniture, finishes, and decorative elements.
• Review technical drawings and design documentation to ensure compliance with approved specifications and standards.
• Coordinate with Real Estate and Leasing teams to assess new locations and define design requirements.
• Coordinate closely with Projects, Construction, contractors, consultants, and suppliers to ensure accurate execution of approved designs.
• Review and approve design submissions from consultants and external partners within assigned authority.
• Oversee the selection of materials, finishes, furniture, lighting, and fixtures while maintaining quality and cost efficiency.
• Monitor design progress across projects and ensure compliance with agreed timelines.
• Coordinate with Marketing, Operations, and Visual Merchandising teams to ensure designs support product presentation and customer experience.
• Lead improvement initiatives for existing branches to enhance space utilization and operational efficiency.
• Support the preparation and review of design budgets and recommend value-engineering solutions when needed.
• Ensure design solutions comply with relevant safety, accessibility, and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare periodic reports on design projects, progress, costs, challenges, and recommendations.
• Lead and support the Design team, distribute responsibilities, review outputs, and develop team capabilities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or an equivalent field.
• 4–6 years of relevant experience in architectural design, interior design, retail design, or commercial design.
• Strong experience in retail, commercial, hospitality, beauty, fashion, or branded environments.
• Previous experience leading design activities or supervising a design team.
• Strong ability to review architectural drawings, technical specifications, and design outputs.
• Good understanding of retail space planning, façades, product display areas, lighting, materials, furniture, and finishes.
• Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Experience working closely with Real Estate, Leasing, Projects, Construction, Operations, Marketing, and Visual Merchandising teams.
• Good understanding of design budgets, project costs, timelines, and value engineering.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and growing retail environment.
• Strong Arabic and English communication skills.
• A strong portfolio of relevant retail or commercial design projects is required.
