A leading engineering services company is seeking an Instrumentation Supervisor to oversee installation, calibration, testing, and commissioning activities on projects. The successful candidate will have a degree in Instrumentation Engineering or a related field, along with 5-8 years of relevant experience including a supervisory role. Prior experience in oil & gas or heavy industries is required, and familiarity with Saudi Arabia project work is preferred. Location: Jubail, Saudi Arabia
The Instrumentation Supervisor is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and executing instrumentation installation, testing, calibration, maintenance, and commissioning activities at site. The role ensures that all instrumentation works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and industry codes, particularly in industrial and process plant environments.
Supervise day-to-day instrumentation activities including installation, calibration, testing, and commissioning of field instruments.
Lead and manage a team of instrument technicians and subcontractors to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
Interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, hook-up drawings, and instrument data sheets.
Coordinate with engineering, construction, commissioning, and QA/QC teams to ensure smooth execution of instrumentation works.
Ensure proper installation and calibration of instruments such as pressure, temperature, flow, level transmitters, control valves, analyzers, and gauges.
Monitor compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and international codes (IEC, ISA, IEEE, etc.).
Conduct toolbox talks and ensure strict adherence to HSE requirements at site.
Prepare daily progress reports, manpower allocation, and material requirement reports.
Identify and resolve site issues related to instrumentation installation and testing.
Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, including loop checking and functional testing.
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering / Electronics & Instrumentation / Electrical & Instrumentation or related discipline.
Minimum 5–8 years of experience in instrumentation works, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory role.
Prior experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery, power plant, or heavy industrial projects is mandatory.
Experience working on projects in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East is highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of industrial instrumentation systems and control equipment.
Hands-on experience in calibration and troubleshooting of field instruments.
Ability to read and understand technical drawings and engineering documents.
Good leadership and team management skills.
Strong coordination and communication skills to liaise with multiple stakeholders.
Familiarity with permit-to-work systems and site safety procedures.
Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation.
