Job summary

Parsons in Saudi Arabia is seeking an experienced Structural/Civil Inspector to join our team. You will perform challenging inspection tasks on various job sites, ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and specifications while recording daily activities and maintaining accurate project documentation.

The ideal candidate reads and interprets plans and drawings, has 10+ years of field experience, and is proficient with MS Office and project management software.

Qualifications

• Assoc degree in technical discipline or construction-related field, or high school diploma with equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of related field experience on construction projects.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications with familiarity in construction processes.
• Fluent English grammar and composition; clear oral and written communication.
• Proficiency with basic computer usage including MS Office and project management software.
• Understanding of scheduling, progress pay estimates and change orders; safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Inspect construction of roads, bridges, and related improvements with field surveillance.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and specifications at the jobsite.
• Maintain office files, quantity calculations, and daily diaries.
• Prepare daily reports and other required documentation.
• Verify materials used are approved for the work quality and standards.
• Identify conflicts and report issues with proposed solutions to supervision.
• Collect and file certificates, MSDS, inspection tags and related information.
• Report on installed quantities, workers, and equipment on site.

Job Description

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Structural/Civil Inspector to join our team! In this role you will get to performs difficult and sometimes complex inspection tasks. Inspects various facets of work on the jobsite and performs continuous surveillance of assigned inspection activities to ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and specifications

What you'll be doing

• Construction of roads, bridges, and other associated improvements (curb and gutter, street, sidewalk, landscaping)
• Drainage work, traffic control, compliance with SWPPP requirements
• Installation of electrical equipment related to traffic signals, ramp metering and street lighting
• Irrigation and planting, roadway and overhead sign removal and installation.
• Installation on temporary and permanent signs and delineation
• Installation of mechanical equipment
• Building and facility construction and associated site development
• Taking project photographs on a daily basis and filing them

In addition

Maintains office files related to the project, quantity calculations and writes daily diaries.

Prepares daily reports and other documentation, as required by the contract

Verifies that only approved materials are incorporated in the work.

Recognizes potential conflicts, issues and problems, and reports to supervisor with proposed solution.

Collects, reviews and files Certificate of Compliance, MSDS, inspection tags and other information relevant to the materials used.

Reports on installed quantities, number of workers and equipment on site

Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

What required skills you'll bring

• Min associate's Degree in a technical discipline or construction-related field, or a high school diploma and equivalent work experience, is required.
• 10+ years of related experience on field projects.
• Must be able to read and interpret plans and specifications and be thoroughly familiar with construction-related processes related to the area of assignment.
• Fluent in English grammar and composition, the ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing; to follow oral and written instructions, prepare written messages and simple charts and graphs.
• Capability to perform math calculation in order to prepare engineering calculations, graphs and charts. Proficiency with basic computer usage, Microsoft Office, Project Management Software.
• Ability to comply with multitude of requirements as applicable to the project based on client and industry standards. Must have thorough understanding of scheduling, and the ability to review progress pay estimates and extra work bills.
• Must be able to recognize hazardous work conditions and take action if necessary. Ability to use good judgment and work with others is required.
