Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced Mechanical Inspector to join our Construction Supervision team for a major infrastructure project at KAEC, Saudi Arabia. You will oversee inspection of mechanical installations across water networks, firefighting, irrigation, sewerage, and stormwater works to ensure compliance with drawings, specs, and safety standards.

Role requires 7+ years in construction supervision and inspection, with strong knowledge of international standards and testing/commissioning of

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor?s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in construction supervision and inspection.
• Experience inspecting water supply, firefighting, irrigation, sewerage and stormwater systems.
• Previous experience working for an engineering consultancy or supervision consultant.
• Strong understanding of international standards, specifications, and construction quality requirements.
• Experience in testing and commissioning of mechanical utility networks.
• Ability to review shop drawings, material submittals, and technical documentation.
• Strong communication, reporting, and coordination skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Previous experience in Saudi Arabia is preferred; English fluency is essential.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and monitor mechanical infrastructure works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
• Supervise installation activities related to potable water networks, firefighting systems, irrigation systems, sewerage networks, and stormwater infrastructure.
• Review and verify materials delivered to site and ensure they meet project specifications and approvals.
• Witness testing, flushing, pressure testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
• Identify non-conforming works and assist in tracking corrective actions to closure.
• Maintain detailed inspection records and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and stakeholders to resolve site-related technical issues.
• Verify compliance with approved method statements, ITPs, and quality procedures.
• Monitor contractor performance and workmanship standards.
• Ensure compliance with project HSE requirements and industry best practices.
• Attend site meetings and contribute to technical discussions related to mechanical works.
• Support the Resident Engineer in achieving project objectives and delivery milestones.

The role will oversee the inspection of mechanical infrastructure installations, ensuring compliance with project specifications, approved drawings, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

As a Mechanical Inspector, you will play a key role in monitoring and inspecting construction activities related to water networks, firefighting systems, irrigation systems, sewerage and stormwater infrastructure. Working closely with the Resident Engineer and project team, you will help ensure that all construction works are delivered to the highest standards of quality, safety, and technical compliance.
