Job summary

Atkins Realis Group seeks a Mechanical Inspector to ensure contractor compliance with contract documents and to coordinate daily with teams for documenting and verifying work performed. You will review drawings, specifications, and safety measures, and maintain records of manpower and equipment on site.

The role requires experience in mechanical and transportation projects, construction supervision, and knowledge of building codes. Strong English communication and reporting skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience in mechanical and transportation projects is required.
  • 7 years of overall experience, minimum 5 years in MEA and construction supervision.
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in mechanical engineering required.
  • Good knowledge of design requirements, mechanical methodologies, and installation processes.
  • Familiarity with building codes and safety practices.

  • Read and understand package contracts, drawings, specifications, and safety measures.

  • Document activities, locations, reasons, and methods used by contractors.
  • Report material delivery and implement site instructions from leadership.
  • Apply quality controls and monitor conformance to codes and procedures.
  • Monitor health and safety and report violations.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • The Mechanical Inspector will ensure contractors are compliant with the contract documents and coordinate daily with other teams to document and verify the quality and quantity of work performed by the contractor and process incoming inspection requests and technical submittals and perform necessary actions.
  • Reading and understanding the package contract documents, detailed drawings, specifications, and health and safety measures together with any associated updates.
  • Ensuring contractors comply with the standards and specifications of the contract documents through observation, measurements, and testing, and tracking quality assurance progress.
  • Maintaining records of the contractors’ manpower and equipment daily resources.
  • Undertaking site supervision and inspections when required or instructed by the Resident Engineer (RE) or the Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE).
  • Documenting in the areas assigned to the inspector the contractors’ personnel and equipment activities observed, location of activities, reason for activities, and means and methods utilized.
  • Reporting on materials delivery and following and implementing any site instructions made by the leader.
  • Applying and implementing all quality controls and quality procedures of the site.
  • Monitoring conformance to quality performance and or code requirements by performing inspection duties.
  • Monitoring health and safety of the construction works and reporting on violations.
Qualifications
  • Experience in mechanical and transportation projects is required.
  • Candidates must have experience in construction supervision with a consultancy, 7 years of overall experience (minimum 5 years in the MEA).
  • For the inspector position, a bachelor’s degree or diploma in mechanical engineering is required.
  • Good knowledge of basic design requirements, familiarity with mechanical methodologies and installation processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge of the building codes.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Competence at writing reports and presenting views clearly and concisely in good written English.
  • Detailed knowledge of construction techniques.
  • Familiarity with construction safety practices and regulations.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Fluency in English; Arabic language skills are advantageous.
