Job summary

International Maritime Industries in Saudi Arabia seeks a skilled professional for Coating Inspection. The role involves preparing inspection procedures, monitoring standards, and ensuring compliance with specifications.

Ideal candidates will have at least 9 years of experience and a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. Certifications such as NACE Level I/II or BGAS 2 are required. English proficiency is necessary, and Arabic is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Valid professional qualifications related to coating inspection.
  • Ability to communicate in English; Arabic is beneficial.

  • Manage coating procedure qualification activities.
  • Oversee storage adherence for painting materials.
  • Plan and order coating/painting consumables for projects.

Job description

JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE

To ensure that all Coating Inspection, processes, controls, and related activities are executed safely, effectively, and efficiently in accordance with applicable technical specifications, company policies and procedures.

To perform Coating Inspection in accordance with documented plans and requirements for planning and execution of projects and continually improve blasting & coating productivity.

Key Accountabilities
  • Prepare coating procedures for the projects at bid stage as well as upon award of the projects.
  • Monitor the HSEQ standards and productivity of all blasting and painting activities in the yard, including monitoring or coating personnel qualification exercise.
  • Manage coating procedure qualification activities and ensure these meet the project specific requirement company requirement.
  • Monitor the storage of painting materials and consumables within the storage area to ensure adherence to all requirements such as A/C & light system explosion proof necessary for controlled storage as per paint manufacturers datasheet or technical specification requirements.
  • Plan, identify & order the coating/painting consumables for projects in advance.
  • Monitor the subcontractor to ensure that materials or consumables being used for coating and painting related activities conform to the specification as per the client’s requirement.
  • Review bid documentation as assigned by the QC Manager, highlighting the cost related to blasting & coating.
  • Assist in identifying sub-standard blasting/coating material or other potential areas of concern.
  • Liaise with project management team, clients, other departments like Production, Planning and Engineering etc. to ensure blasting/coating related risks and opportunities are communicated during bid & execution.
  • Take responsibility for interpretation of various coating codes, standards, and client specifications, and support other functions in ensuring compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable information security policies & procedures.

Education

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Professional Qualifications (Certifications & Accreditations)
  • Valid professional qualification in the following:
  • NACE Level I / II or BGAS 2
Experience
  • Minimum of 9 years’ experience, relating to quality inspection of offshore structures (Rigs. Jackets, etc).
Languages
  • English
  • Arabic is beneficial
