Job Description

General Characteristics (Job Summary)

• Implement safety procedures and policies, managing safety projects, and providing technical expertise in safety engineering.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Maintains thorough knowledge of safe work procedures and rules
• Enforces all phases of established safety program as well as special controls
• Ensures workforce understand safe work procedure and competent to perform assigned tasks safely
• Administer progressive disciplinary action when required
• Continuously communicating safe job procedures for unusual or hazardous operations
• Control and strict implementation of safety rules and regulations.
• Coordination with Subcontractor and SAMSUNG E&A Construction Management
• Supervises, controls, guides, monitors and evaluates area safety supervisors and officers
• Coordinate and respond to site client observation.
• Find solution to improve site safety condition
• Emergency Response (Accident, Near miss, Medical events)
• Lead and conduct site safety meetings among safety supervisors & officers
• Conduct interview of subcontractor safety supervisors & officers
• Analyze accident/incident reports to ensure recurrence is prevented
• Formulate action plans for relevant issues and concerns cited.
• Monitor safety and health performance and recommend actions for improvement.
• Collaborates with employees and supervisors to identify and correct potential safety and health hazards.

Qualifications

Experience

• Minimum 8 years of experience in construction safety that includes minimum of 1 year experience as HSE Engineer or Senior HSE Supervisor for small Projects (With manpower of more than 500 workers including subcontractors), and complete minimum of 3 Projects as Safety Supervisor and minimum 5 Projects as Safety Officer.
• Strong knowledge of project specifications and standards, and medium to large-sized project experience.
• Experience in oil / gas / petrochemical or power plants as a Supervisor.
• Engineering & Construction Company working experience.

Knowledge

• Competent knowledge in HSE
• Knowledge in performing ERT Member for incident/accident situation, chemical spill, fire, working at height, Confined Space vessel horizontal & vertical search and rescue.
• Knowledge in PSSR Pre start up safety review assessment, plant operation and shutdown as well.
• Knowledgeable in documentation and presentation.
• Good management and leadership skills with responsible attitude.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel and Power Point Presentation applications.
