Job summary

Assystem, a leading global engineering group, seeks a senior HSE professional in Saudi Arabia to oversee health, safety and environmental programs across major projects.

You will develop plans, monitor KPIs and drive audits, ensuring strict regulatory alignment and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, HSE, Environmental Science or related discipline.
• NEBOSH IGC/Diploma, IOSH, ISO 45001/14001 training preferred; Saudi HSE regulatory awareness required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee project HSE plans, procedures, KPIs and compliance monitoring across applicable workstreams.
• Review contractor HSE submissions and monitor HSE performance, audits and closeout actions.
• Lead HSE risk reviews, incident reporting, lessons learned and emergency preparedness coordination.
• Advise PM leadership on HSE risks, legal requirements and required corrective actions.
• Promote a proactive HSE culture and stop-work authority where unsafe conditions exist.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

• Develop and oversee project HSE plans, procedures, KPIs and compliance monitoring across applicable workstreams.
• Review contractor/consultant HSE submissions and monitor HSE performance, audits and closeout actions.
• Lead HSE risk reviews, incident reporting, lessons learned and emergency preparedness coordination.
• Advise PM leadership on HSE risks, legal requirements and required corrective actions.
• Promote a proactive HSE culture and stop-work authority where unsafe conditions exist.

Quality Responsibilities

• Request the necessary resources for the continuity and efficiency of the quality management system and increase commitment within the unit.
• Ensure all activities within the unit comply with laws, applicable national/international standards and ethical rules.
• Carry out project activities in accordance with the Quality Management System and ensure rules are followed effectively.
• Work in accordance with the Quality Management System and contribute to its development and continuous improvement.

HSE Responsibilities

• Implement Assystem safety programs within the team and consistently adhere to Assystem HSE policies, procedures and applicable legal requirements.
• Keep work areas organized and free of hazards; promptly report deviations, faults, hazards and HSE incidents to the HSE Representative or line manager.
• Participate in operational controls to eliminate or mitigate newly identified risks and support incident investigations when required.
• Ensure own actions do not compromise personal safety or the safety of others; cooperate on health and safety matters and stop work if conditions are unsafe.

Specialty

Health, safety and environmental governance, compliance monitoring and HSE reporting

Education Degree

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, HSE, Environmental Science or related discipline.

Training/certifications

NEBOSH IGC/Diploma, IOSH, ISO 45001/14001 training preferred; Saudi HSE regulatory awareness required.

Technical knowledge

HSE management systems, hazard identification, risk assessment, audits, incident reporting, contractor HSE oversight, emergency preparedness and HSE KPIs.
