Job summary

JATCO is seeking a Geomatics Specialist I in Saudi Arabia to support surveying, GIS, mapping, CAD drafting, and geospatial analysis across multiple disciplines. The role emphasizes modern geospatial technologies, hydrography, charting workflows, data QA/QC, and collaboration with technical teams.

The candidate should have strong GIS/ArcGIS skills, CAD experience, and 2D/3D analysis capabilities, with preference for hydrographic data processing and ENC production.

Qualifications

• Professional experience in geomatics, surveying, GIS, mapping, or a related technical discipline.
• Strong knowledge of GIS and ArcGIS.
• Experience with CAD and mapping projects.
• Proficiency in 2D and 3D geospatial analysis.
• Experience with 3D laser scanning technologies.
• Knowledge of hydrography, cartography, photogrammetry, geodesy, and remote sensing.
• Hydrographic and nautical charting experience is highly preferred.
• Experience with hydrographic data processing.
• Knowledge of ENC and paper chart production.
• Understanding of ENC encryption and distribution protocols.
• Experience with hydrographic survey techniques.
• Knowledge of QA/QC procedures for geospatial and hydrographic data.
• Experience with data management and publication workflows.
• Familiarity with Notice to Mariners processes is advantageous.
• Strong analytical, technical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Candidates currently available locally in Saudi Arabia are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform geomatics, surveying, mapping, and geospatial analysis activities.
• Support GIS projects using ArcGIS and related geospatial technologies.
• Develop and work with CAD-based mapping and drafting projects.
• Conduct 2D and 3D geospatial analysis.
• Support projects involving 3D laser scanning technologies.
• Apply principles and techniques related to hydrography, cartography, photogrammetry, geodesy, and remote sensing.
• Process and manage hydrographic survey data.
• Support Electronic Navigational Chart (ENC) and paper chart production.
• Work with ENC encryption and distribution protocols.
• Apply hydrographic survey techniques and established data-processing workflows.
• Perform Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) activities.
• Support geospatial data management and publication workflows.
• Assist with Notice to Mariners-related data and publication activities.
• Maintain accuracy, consistency, and quality of geospatial information.
• Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders on geomatics and mapping requirements.
