Qualifications

• Basic medical degree from a recognized institution.
• Post-qualification certification from North America, Western Europe, Australia, or New Zealand; USA ABMS; Canada RCPS-C; UK/ Ireland GMC/CCST; Australia/New Zealand FRACP; Western Europe equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform sub-specialist duties as per scope of care and privileges approved by the Credentialing Committee.
• Provide care in outpatient clinics and in patient wards.
• Perform procedures according to privileges and provide consultations to inpatient and outpatient services.
• Share on-call duties and supervise junior staff and interns, supporting professional development.
• Ensure accurate medical documentation and charting; supervise team documentation.
• Collaborate with colleagues and communicate clearly with patients and families.
• Contribute to administrative duties related to patient care as directed by division head.
• Provide patient and family education according to status and needs.

Education and Qualifications Required

• Basic medical degree from a recognized institution
• Post-qualification certification from one of the following sources:
  • North America, Western Europe, Australia, or New Zealand
  • USA: American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS)
  • Canada: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Certificate (RCPS-C)
  • UK and Ireland: GMC/CCST Specialist Register
  • Australia and New Zealand: Fellowship from the Royal College (FRACP)
  • Western Europe: Equivalent certification to the above

Experience Post-Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) years after board/equivalent certification in USA, Canada, Ireland, UK, Australia, New Zealand, and France (DES)
• Minimum five (5) years after board/equivalent certification in Spain, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Austria, Netherlands, Greece, and France (DIS)

License

• Current and in good standing medical license to practice in the country of residence

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform professional duties of a sub-specialist in accordance with the delineation of scope of care and privileges as recommended by the Chief of Department and approved by the Credentialing Committee
• Perform duties in the outpatient clinic
• Provide care to patients in the wards
• Perform procedures according to privileges
• Provide consultation services to inpatient and outpatient services in area of expertise
• Share in on-call duties as per duty schedule
• Supervise work of assistant and/or associate consultants, support professional development of junior physicians and interns, and provide evaluation of their work at the request of the Chief of Service
• Ensure accurate medical documentation and charting and supervise documentation of the rest of the team
• Work closely with colleagues
• Communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues and patients
• Act as a member of the team and share administrative responsibilities
• Undertake administrative duties when needed related to patient care under direction of the division head
• Provide patient and family education according to patient status and needs
