• Ability to work as a fullstack Rails engineer and gain proficiency within 90 days.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of scoping and implementing new projects & features in a full stack Rails webapp
• Lead implementation of upgrading our core product to the next level or releasing new products
• Establish and guide the architecture of several web applications
• Build leverage: a one-week task today should be a 10 minute task next year
• Proactively find ways to improve the codebase & team workflows
• Research and lead adoption of new systems/technologies
• Mentor junior engineers & constructively challenge senior engineers to achieve better outcomes
• Maintain a high technical bar via code reviews, testing, and sound coding practices
• Collaborate with internal designers and engineers as needed

Requirements

• 5+ years software engineering experience
• 2+ years experience working with Ruby on Rails and REST APIs
• Non-zero experience writing frontend code.
• Ability to work as a fullstack Rails engineer. You don’t need to be an expert from day 1, but by day 90 you need to become proficient with the full Rails stack including Hotwire/Turbo/Stimulus.
• You have an impact-oriented mindset and prioritize delivering customer value over other concerns.
• You are a product-minded engineer who wants to become a domain expert and refine ambiguous product requirements to deliver customer value.
• You’re excited about working at a fast paced startup where you can have outsized impact by wearing different hats and resolving ambiguity.
• Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent verbal and written english communication
