Job summary

FRS Maintenance & Training Specialist at FRS is responsible for coordinating and delivering comprehensive fire training programs, maintaining manuals, and ensuring alignment with current standards. Qualifications

  • Education: High Diploma in Airport Fire Science; Bachelor’s in Fire Science and Fire and Emergency Administration; Master’s preferred.
  • Experience: 3-4 years in fire and rescue operations, emergency response, or related field.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Airport Operation Diploma, Training Officer certifications (e.g., Fire Officer II+), Hazardous Materials Incident Commander, First Aid & CPR.
  • Languages: Arabic and English.

Job description

Ensure oversight of all training activities, evaluate program effectiveness, recommend equipment purchases, research and develop new fire training methods, assist in setting training objectives and develop training policies and procedures in compliance with GACA, ICAO regulations, NFPA, and IFAST standards.

Position Accountability Description
Operational Excellence
  • 1.Coordinate, develop and deliver comprehensive fire training programs that adhere to GACA, ICAO regulations, fire training NFPA, IFAST standards, and fire service requirements. This includes designing curriculum, organizing training sessions, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols to enhance the overall preparedness and effectiveness of fire service personnel.
  • 2.Conduct research to gather information, create and refine fire department policies and procedures, assess adherence to bylaws, and evaluate the effectiveness of fire department equipment.
  • 3.Oversee, develop, and deliver in-house training programs. Coordinate, schedule, and develop live Fire Training ground instructors and technicians. Utilize best practices in the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of effective training programs.
  • 4.Ensure that all fire and rescue personnel are adequately trained to handle a wide range of emergencies, such as aircraft fire, rescue, hazardous materials, and medical emergencies, and that the latest best practices are incorporated into their training.
  • 5.Develop and maintain training manuals and resources to ensure that training content is up-to-date and aligned with current standards and practices.
  • 6.Evaluate training needs by conducting assessments and consultations with fire service personnel and stakeholders, ensuring that training programs address identified gaps and areas for improvement.
  • 7.Monitor and report on the progress and outcomes of training programs, including participant performance and program effectiveness, to make data-driven adjustments and improvements.
  • 8.Collaborate with external training organizations and subject matter experts to integrate specialized knowledge and techniques into training programs.
  • 9.Facilitate train-the-trainer sessions to ensure that internal trainers are well-equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality training.
  • 10.Ensure compliance with quality assurance protocols and standards in all training activities.

  • 11.Implement sustainability practices in training activities to reduce environmental impact and promote efficient use of resources.
Emergency Response Management
  • 12.Maintain emergency response plans and protocols to ensure swift and effective action during emergencies.

  • 13.Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and industry standards to protect personnel and equipment.
Stakeholder Management
  • 14.Coordinate with other departments to ensure the timely availability of required materials and equipment for training, ensuring that minimum requirements are consistently met according to GACA regulations and standards.
  • 15.Support the planning and execution of comprehensive emergency drills and simulations to ensure all team members are familiar with emergency response protocols, evaluating the outcomes to identify areas for improvement.
Record Keeping and Reporting
  • 16.Maintain detailed and accurate records of all training sessions and firefighters to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and support continuous improvement efforts. Prepare reports for review by senior management.
  • 17.Guide the evaluation of training effectiveness by collecting and analyzing feedback from participants and incorporating lessons learned into future training sessions to enhance overall preparedness and response capabilities.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
  • 18.Identify and implement innovative training methods and technologies to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of training programs.
  • 19.Continuously evaluate and benchmark training practices against industry standards to adopt improvements and maintain high-quality training delivery.
  • 20.Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging feedback from participants and integrating it into training program enhancements.
  • 21.Collaborate with other departments to incorporate emerging best practices and technologies into training programs.
  • 22.Develop and pilot new training approaches and techniques to address evolving needs and challenges in fire service training.
Team Collaboration and Continuous Learning
  • 23.Work collaboratively with team members and other FRS personnel by sharing knowledge, providing support, and actively participating in team activities, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • 24.Engage in continuous learning by seeking feedback, attending training sessions, and staying updated on industry trends and advancements in fire service training to enhance personal skills and contribute to the team’s overall growth.

Education Background High Diploma in Airport Fire Science, bachelor’s degree in Fire Science and Fire and Emergency Administration, or a related field. A master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.

Relevent Experience 3 - 4 years of experience in fire and rescue operations, emergency response, or a related field.

Professional Licenses,Accreditations & Certifications

Preferred: Airport Operation Diploma Certifications,

Certification as a Training Officer(e.g., Fire Officer II or higher), Hazardous Materials Incident Commander certification, Fire Inspector II, Fire Instructor III and Incident Safety Officer, First Aid and CPR certification.
