Job summary

Plant Digital in Saudi Arabia seeks a seasoned Financial Controller to oversee financial operations, ensure accurate reporting, and maintain regulatory compliance.

You will lead monthly closes, budgeting, audits, and tax filing, manage cash flow, develop controls, and mentor the finance team while collaborating with key stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting.
• Accounting qualifications such as CMA, CPA, CA, etc. are preferable.
• Strong analytical and communication skills in English.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in finance/accounting.
• Minimum 3 years in a team-leading position.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes and financial reporting.
• Manage cash flow to support daily operations.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable and ensure timely payments.
• Prepare and manage executive management reports and respond to queries.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting cycles and variance analysis.
• Coordinate audits (statutory, IKTVA, and local content) and liaise with external auditors.
• Ensure tax compliance (Zakat, Income Tax, WHT, VAT) and ZATCA filings.
• Develop and maintain internal controls and manage financial risk.
• Supervise finance team and promote training and engagement.

Position Summary:

A financial controller plays a critical role in overseeing the financial operations at Plant Digital, ensuring the company's financial health, the accuracy of its reports, and compliance with relevant regulations.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Accounting/ Financial Reporting

• Supervising monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, along with financial reporting.
• Managing the company’s cash flow to ensure adequate funds for daily operations.
• Overseeing accounts payable and receivable to ensure timely payments and collections.
• Preparing and managing executive management reports and addressing related queries.
• Handling ad-hoc reports and tasks assigned by executive management.

2. Budgeting and Forecasting

• Contributing to the development of annual budgets and business plans.
• Overseeing the management of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
• Monitoring financial performance in relation to the budget and implementing adjustments as necessary.

3. Audit & Tax

• Overseeing and coordinating audit activities, including statutory audits, IKTVA, and local content audits.
• Collaborating with external auditors to finalize audit reports.
• Supervising the finalization and submission of tax returns in coordination with the company’s tax advisors (Zakat, Income Tax, Withholding Tax, and VAT).
• Reviewing returns for filing with ZATCA.
• Leading and managing teams responsible for ZATCA assessments and queries.

4. Compliance and Risk Management

• Ensuring adherence to accounting principles and regulatory standards.
• Ensuring compliance with tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
• Establishing and maintaining internal financial controls to prevent fraud and errors.
• Identifying financial risks and implementing effective mitigation strategies.
• Offering guidance on managing financial risks and capitalizing on opportunities.

5. People Management

• Supervising and managing the finance team, including accountants and other financial staff.
• Ensuring the team is well-trained, motivated, and aligned with organizational goals.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting.
• Accounting qualifications such as CMA, CPA, CA, etc. is preferable.
• Problem-solving and multi-tasking skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong oral and written communication in English
• Stakeholder management skills and an ability to connect with people to drive successful relationships.
• Ability to work with key stakeholders and direct colleagues through collaboration & teamwork in a non-hierarchical relationship framework.
