Job summary

BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is seeking a Finance Manager – Projects to provide financial support to the Training Services Project Team, including reporting, forecasts and IBP baselines. You will ensure compliance with finance policies and deliver accurate project financials, while supporting bid and project teams and driving process improvements.

The role requires qualified accounting credentials, strong communication skills, and experience in project accounting, financial planning and reporting

Finance Manager – Projects

JOB PURPOSE

BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia.We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is committed to supporting the Saudi Arabian National Agenda including Saudisation and the training and development of Saudi National capability through the growth of the Saudi National Partner Companies thereby reinforcing Industrialisation and Partnerships.

The post holder will be responsible for financial support to project reporting of Capability and Training within the Training Services Project Team. The post holder prepares project reports and provides advice on Project Sales and Profit forecasts ensuring that Finance Policies are implemented. The Finance Manager compiles the Project element of the Integrated Business Plan.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

Prepare financial results

• Provision of financial support and direction to bid and project teams in Capability and Training.
• Ensure financial and commercial risks are identified, understood and properly examined and understood through risk reviews.
• Ensure CSR / SSRs are prepared on a quarterly basis and reviewed in line with FPM and LCM mandates.
• Responsibility for trading plans, challenge of estimates to complete, support of decision making process and challenging contract performance.
• Create and challenge key IBP assumptions, and undertake the IBP process in the project area, including financial modelling of IBP baseline assumptions.

Audit Management

• Liaise with external auditors to facilitate annual audits, ensuring all information is provided promptly and correctly.

Internal Controls

• Develop and maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting to mitigate risks and ensure data accuracy.
• Ensure robust financial governance and processes are in place throughout LCM phases of the project lifecycle.
• Act as a key interface into the bid teams to ensure that all finance deliverables are reported accurately at the Bid Status Reviews.

Process Improvement

• Continuously improve project accounting processes, implementing best practices and leveraging technology for efficiency gains.
• Champion system and toolset changes in line with local and enterprise initiatives.
• Management, motivation and development of professional staff including succession planning and co-ordination of training.

RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION

Essential

• Qualified accountant with a good knowledge of most Finance function responsibilities. Previous experience in detail in project accounting, financial accounting and at least some experience in financial planning & reporting and management reporting is essential.
• Good knowledge of current Accounting Standards/Practices and of the BAE Systems Finance Policy Manual (FPM).
• Highly motivated individual with the ability to self-drive tasks to completion, alongside others.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to operate across various levels and functions in the organisation.
• Able to build relationships and influence.
