Job summary

Trs Staffing Solutions, Inc. is seeking an Area Manager (Mechanical) for a mining and metals project in Ras Al-Khair, Saudi Arabia.

The role leads mechanical construction, installation, commissioning and start-up within the metals recycling facility and closely coordinates with engineering, process, electrical, instrumentation, and operations teams. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 15+ years in mechanical construction, commissioning, or project execution.
• 8+ years in supervisory or area management roles.
• Experience on large-scale Mining & Metals or heavy industrial projects.
• Knowledge of rotating/static equipment, bulk materials handling, mechanical packages, and piping systems.
• Hands-on construction management, commissioning, and plant start-up activities.
• Experience managing EPC/EPCM contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Familiarity with ASME, API, ISO codes and standards.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, planning and problem-solving skills.
• Professional Engineering registration or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead all mechanical construction, installation, commissioning and start-up activities within the assigned area of the metals recycling facility.
• Manage the execution of mechanical equipment installation including crushers, shredders, conveyors, reactors, pumps, tanks, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and material handling systems.
• Coordinate with engineering, process, electrical, instrumentation and operations teams for successful integration of mechanical systems.
• Oversee EPC/EPCM contractors and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with project specs, quality, safety and schedules.
• Monitor construction progress, productivity, manpower utilization, and resource requirements to meet milestones.
• Lead mechanical pre-commissioning, commissioning, functional testing, and handover activities.
• Resolve technical and construction issues with risk mitigation strategies.
• Ensure all mechanical works comply with codes, standards, procedures and HSE requirements.
• Review and approve contractor work plans, method statements, ITPs, and progress reports.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to engineers, supervisors and field personnel while promoting safety, quality and execution excellence.

Requirements/Qualification:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 15+ years of experience in mechanical construction, commissioning, or project execution within industrial processing facilities.
• Minimum 8+ years in a supervisory, superintendent, or area management role.
• Proven experience on large-scale Mining & Metals, Metals Recycling, Minerals Processing, Chemical Processing, or Heavy Industrial Projects.
• Strong knowledge of rotating equipment, static equipment, bulk materials handling systems, mechanical packages, and piping systems.
• Hands-on experience with construction management, commissioning, and plant start-up activities.
• Experience managing EPC/EPCM contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Familiarity with international codes and standards such as ASME, API, ISO, and related industrial standards.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Professional Engineering registration or equivalent certification preferred.

Preferred Experience:

• Metals recycling facilities.
• Battery recycling and black mass processing plants.
• Hydrometallurgical or pyrometallurgical processing facilities.

• Large capital projects exceeding USD 500M.
• Experience in the Middle East region.
